  14. Price switch still sore for Glasgow fanspublished at 17:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2023

    Ospreys v Glasgow Warriors (17:15)

The news that Ali Price is making a season-long switch from Glasgow to Edinburgh came as a bolt from the blue, particularly to Warriors fans, who won’t be best pleased about losing the Scotland international and Lion to their biggest rivals.

This is a move made by central office at Murrayfield. And it makes sense - on a number of fronts.

Edinburgh need a scrum-half and Price needs to play games. It’s simple enough.

Glasgow supporters can complain, but the traffic went the other way when George Turner and then Rory Darge swapped Edinburgh for Glasgow years back. This is not the first time this kind of thing has happened and it won’t be the last.

  15. 'Players have to step up'published at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2023

    Ospreys v Glasgow Warriors (17:15)

Glasgow Warriors boss Franco Smith speaking to Viaplay Sports: "Ospreys is a very tough opponent especially with having their nationals back this week and picking up a couple of good wins already.

"We know they are going to defend this fortress just as much as we like to win games at home.

"It is going to take 120 per cent effort to get the win tonight.

"We have got a big objective and dream, we want to win and we have to cross bridges like these to do that.

"Everybody has now had a taste of it and it is up to the players to step up."

Ospreys have recalled Wales caps Adam Beard, Dewi Lake and Nicky Smith to start, with George North on the bench.

The quartet return after World Cup duty and beating the Barbarians last weekend.

Justin Tipuric reverts to leading Ospreys and ex-Wales Under-20s fly-half Dan Edwards could make his debut as a replacement from the bench.

Sintu Manjezi and Enrique Pieretto return from long-term injuries for Glasgow Warriors.

South African lock Manjezi has been absent since last December, while Argentine prop Pieretto, who is on the bench, suffered a serious shoulder injury in the summer of 2022.

Jamie Bhatti and Lucio Sordoni are added to the front row after last weekend's win over Stormers and Henco Venter comes into the back-row in place of the rested Rory Darge.

Fly-half Duncan Weir makes his first start of the campaign, with Jamie Dobie at scrum-half, making it six changes overall.

Allan Dell and Sean Kennedy join Pieretto among the replacements, also in line for their first outings of the season.
