    Kevin Millar, @topofthemoonGW

It's four days short of nine years since Ali Price made his Glasgow Warriors appearance away to Scarlets in what was then the PRO12.

He's a debut boy again tonight. After 130 matches for the Warriors, it's game number one for the scrum-half for Edinburgh against the Bulls in the URC.

  3. Price on for Edinburgh debutpublished at 55 mins

    Edinburgh 21-13 Bulls

It's all a bit scrappy, with handling errors starting to creep into the game.

Break in play... and here comes the man of the moment. Ali Price is on for his Edinburgh debut, replacing Ben Vellacott. It's still quite odd seeing him in capital colours.

Elsewhere, Pierre Schoeman is off for Boan Venter. Can Edinburgh keep this momentum?

Duhan van der Merwe finally touches the ball, and of course it's a try!

Number 35 for Edinburgh, moving him ahead of both Blair Kinghorn and Darcy Graham - only Tim Visser (69) has scored more tries for the capital club.

  5. try

Try - Edinburgh 21-13 Bullspublished at 50 mins

    Duhan van der Merwe

Four penalties in six-and-a-half minutes for the Bulls. They've lost the plot a little bit.

Edinburgh go for the line-out again. They roll the maul... another advantage is coming!

But it matters not! Ben Healy demands the ball, goes round the back and fires it wide. Kinghorn then delivers to Van der Merwe and he pins his ear back to go over in the corner.

Healy hasn't looked good from the tee tonight and this conversion crashes off the face of the post.

  6. try

Try - Edinburgh 16-13 Bullspublished at 44 mins

    Ewan Ashman

There was only one way that was going.

Edinburgh kick to touch and then get that maul going again. They're against a heavily depleted Bulls pack that only contains one back-row, so it's no surprise to see the navy blue cascade over the line. Ashman is the beneficiary once more.

Edinburgh lead for the first time! What a swing in this game!

  7. Sin-bin - Cameron Hanekom (Bulls)published at 42 mins

    Edinburgh 11-16 Bulls

Edinburgh immedaitely look to make the most of the man advantage. They kick for touch, then go for the rolling maul... and boy, is it rolling!

They motor towards the Bulls line before being brought down on the five metre-line. Cameron Hanekom is then binned! He brought down the maul - the Bulls are down to 13!

  8. Red card - Marcell Coetzee (Bulls)published at 41 mins

    Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

South Africa international Coetzee is the man who makes the hit. His shoulder catches Schoeman flush on the chin. That looks red to me...

Is there any mitigation? Schoeman is low, but hasn't changed his height in the hit.

There we go - Chris Busby shows a red card to a Bull. They're down to 14.

  9. Second-half begins with a bangpublished at 40 mins

    Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

The second-half is underway, although it feels like we've barely had time to catch our breath.

Blair Kinghorn is absolutely cut in half by two big tacklers at the same time. He's stayed down after that hit, no wonder. The edge of legality, just low enough.

Then, Pierre Schoeman is on the end of a similarly big hit. His head jolted back... we're going to the TMO!

  10. Bulls busy at the Hivepublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2023

    HT: Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

    Kevin Millar, @topofthemoonGW

Tries. Big hits. Missed kicks. Missed drop goals. It's been end-to-end (to end again) stuff and the crowd at the Hive have certainly had their money's worth tonight.

Ben Healy has passed 50 points scored for the home side, adding a couple of penalties to Ewan Ashman's second try for his new club. The visitors have the lead though as they look for their first ever win on the road in Scotland.

Can the players maintain this pace in the second half?

  11. 'Frenetic' and 'fantastic'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2023

    HT: Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

    Bobby Skinstad
Former South Africa captain on Viaplay

It was frenetic. Both sides are competitive at the breakdown, doing the basics well.

I think an individual flash of brilliance will win it. Both teams are playing high tempo, but there's been one or two mistakes.

The pace and the quality of the contest has been fantastic.

  12. Half-time - Edinburgh 11-13 Bullspublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2023

    Jeezo, that didn't stop.

An extremely intriguing half. Back-and-forth, tit-for-tat, and Edinburgh are still well in the fight.

A Blair Kinghorn mistake allowed Davon Williams in for the opener, but a rolling maul got the hosts right back into it.

Both Johan Goosen and Ben Healy have been inconsistent from the tee. Will that impact the result at full-time? We shall see.

  13. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

Blair Kinghorn has made a few mistakes this half but he's roaring back, piercing holes in the Bulls defence with his running and handling. Can Edinburgh find a response before the break?

The crowd has been roused before that, though. Jaco van der Walt is on against his former club. Johan Goosen is replaced... think that's an HIA.

  14. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Edinburgh 11-13 Bulls

Edinburgh try and break out of their own 22m, but Kinghorn's pass to Duhan van der Merwe is forward. That's perhaps the first time the blonde bombshell would have touched the ball this evening.

The Bulls win a penalty from the scrum, and they go for the line.

But what's this? Davon Williams has not only missed the line, but kicked it straight out the back of the paddock. Big let-off for the hosts.

  15. try

Try - Edinburgh 11-13 Bullspublished at 33 mins

    Ewan Ashman

The throw is good, the maul is good and Edinburgh crash over!

It was Ashman who had regathered, tucking the ball under his shirt as the pack heaved their way towards the line. Bill Mata was instrumental in that.

There's a groan from around the Hive Stadium, as Ben Healy uncharacteristically slices his kick wide. Edinburgh pass up the chance to level.

  16. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Bulls 6-13 Edinburgh

Edinburgh gain a bit of momentum after a Blair Kinghorn surge. They work it to the right and Mark Bennett breaks - this is much better from the capital side.

They're into the 22 and they have the advantage. James Lang stabs through and the Bulls touch down behind their own line.

Edinburgh have the ball and they go for the corner! A statement of intent.

  17. Penaltypublished at 29 mins

    Edinburgh 6-13 Bulls

Edinburgh are pinged again for holding on at the ruck. They've been called out for that a few times.

Johan Goosen strikes the woodwork again - and again, he makes sure it bounces the right side. The Bulls are capitalising on their hosts' ill-discipline.

    Edinburgh 6-10 Bulls

    Chris Paterson
    Former Scotland international on Viaplay

Run, kick, pass - the three main options that everyone has. Healy passes 50% of the time, kicks 30% of the time, runs 20% of the time. It's relatively balanced.

He's so accurate, with whatever kind of kick he wants to play.

  19. Penaltypublished at 22 mins

    Edinburgh 6-10 Bulls

Edinburgh pinged again for offside. Johan Goosen chooses the tee, and splits the post this time. He has packed his kicking boots after all.

This game has been breathless so far. The Bulls are dominating the physical contact.

  20. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Edinburgh 6-7 Bulls

    Chris Paterson
    Former Scotland international on Viaplay

Edinburgh have won their three games by narrow margins, and that's because they stay in the fight.
