Ulster head coach Dan McFarland on Viaplay: "I'm really disappointed. A lot of what we did in the first half was excellent, but for some reason we fell on the wrong side of the referee. I couldn't work it out, it didn't look to be consistent and it put us under a lot of pressure.

"In the second half we really didn't get a grip with the physicality and we didn't finish sets.

"We put ourselves in a good position but the penalties we conceded swung the momentum their way.

"From our attack side of things, we've got to be able to hold onto the ball - that was a big thing that we'll be taking into next week."

I was very impressed. I did think that Glasgow would come out on top but I didn't expect them to have their way as long as they did.

Ulster never really looked as if they were going to take the win away from Glasgow once they got their nose in front.

Glasgow head coach Franco Smith has been talking to Viaplay post-match: "We ended up having a lot of deficits in the first half.

"It is good to get a reward. Character in the team is everything. Credit to the coaches and the boys.

"I don't like mentioning players but I think Johnny Matthews did well, he brings a lot to the squad."

Once Glasgow get themselves in front you do start to wonder how big the gap will get, and in this case it's 13 points.

Ulster in the last season or two have shown a softer underbelly and tonight it was exposed.

Glasgow centre Sione Tuipulotu has been named player of the match:

"We kind of messed up the first 20 minutes of the game, but that was good to go through," he told Viaplay.

"We managed to fight back, so I'm proud of the boys. We thought they fired their shots early and felt we could wrestle back momentum.

"I feel like we've got some of the best back rowers in the comp ad the pressure they put on the breakdown puts massive pressure on the opposition.

"Massive challenge away next week against last year's champions, but we'll go to the drawing board, and the win is encouraging."

    That is that at Scotstoun.

A bonus-point win for Glasgow, which by my reckoning sends them top of the URC.

Ah dear Nathan Doak, that's poor.

The Ulster stand-off misses touch, and their hopes of a losing bonus point go up in smoke.

That's impressive from Glasgow. Once they get into those close quarters it looks as if they have something extra and nobody panics in those spots.

    Johnny Matthews

The Salah of Scotstoun strikes again.

Ulster deal with the initial maul fairly well, but Glasgow recycle, go through the phases and Johnny Matthews' strength sees him crash over from close range.

The conversion sails through and Glasgow now lead by 13 points with eight minutes left on the clock.

That's a class score. Brilliantly constructed. I'll tell you what, Johnny Matthews strikes me as good as Tom Stewart and looked like a right winger there.
