  4. 'Shows what this team is capable of' - Townsendpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    FT: Scotland 30-21 England

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend tells BBC One:

"You have to celebrate these moments, especially when you have a trophy in the dressing room.

"Duhan van der Merwe was great today. He saw the opportunities and went for it.

"I think the first try was really special in that we didn't have much ball, we weren't in England's half very often.

"The win is massive. It is a one-off, we were playing for the trophy today and to us that is very important.

"Now we can look to the next two games and see how we can improve.

"To show that resilience to come back and then score 30 points shows what this team is capable of. There is improvement to do and we want to get to the final week with an opportunity to still be in the championship."

Here's what some of you had to say on the match:

saidmadrid5: The Calcutta Cup remains where it belongs, in Scotland

thyskylion: It was the Duhan van der Merwe show at Murrayfield! A winning hat-trick of tries!

Matt Teague: England were the better team but our handling errors cost us at least 17 points and that’s not good enough.

Andy Thomas: England have been poor, too many errors. The relentless desire to box kick in rugby baffles me.

  6. 'Not good enough' - Borthwickpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    FT: Scotland 30-21 England

England coach Steve Borthwick tells BBC One:

"I think firstly we have to give credit to Scotland, it was a very strong performance. You saw a Scotland team that have been together a good number of years and are clear what they are trying to do against an England team that are tying to develop.

"You saw some aspects of our game step forward today but there were too many handling errors, and if you turn over that much ball it is very difficult to win a test match against a quality Scotland team.

"Scotland's 10,12,13 have started together a dozen times, that is the first time our 10,12,13 started together. We know today we weren't good enough and we will try to do better going forward.

"I thought the guys started well but the second quarter is where our errors went up and Scotland were able to score too easily, you can't let them do that.

"Today was not good enough, we wanted to win and we didn't. If you look at results, we have eight wins out of the last nine but we still wanted to win today.

"Now we have two weeks to build to Ireland and we will make sure we are better there."

  8. 'Professionalism was brilliant' - Russellpublished at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    FT: Scotland 30-21 England

Scotland co-captain Finn Russell tells BBC One:

"It is great for us to be the team that have achieved a few records. We have had a lot of good results but there is still a long way to go. We are not getting too ahead of ourselves but it has been a long time coming some would say.

"I have been struggling a bit with it [my kicking] at Bath. It is great for the team me being able to knock the points over and keep England at arms length.

"I think we had a really professional week building up to this game. The professionalism of everyone was brilliant and we managed to beat a really good England side today.

"If we do manage to go to Italy and get a win we will be looking back at the France game pretty frustrated but that is sport and these things happen.

"We just had to do our job today looking ahead to Italy in a few weeks time where we'll look to do a professional job again."

We're waxing lyrical about Duhan van der Merwe because he is one of the game's best.

Scotland are now capable of creating tries from nothing. When they get it together for a couple of phases, they can really pressurise teams.

Van der Merwe's second try deserved more than just five points.

To dance around Ben Earl and sprint down the touchline in what you know is going to be a tight game, you need moments of magic and players to stand up - he did that.

Not only is it a brilliant finish, I don't think England recovered emotionally from that.

  13. 'We were a little bit loose' - Georgepublished at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    FT: Scotland 30-21 England

England captain Jamie George, on an emotional day for him personally, tells BBC One:

"I don't see many issues with how we played in the first half, we were a little bit loose with how we handed the ball over.

"If you give the ball to Duhan van der Merwe and Finn Russell you know they can create a bit of magic and they did that.

"A lot of what we did was good, the endeavour that we showed was good but we just can't hand the ball over to a team like that.

"I think we are very clear on how we want to play, the way we want to defend, attack and take teams on.

"I think set-piece wise we put Scotland under a lot of pressure. We have just got to put these things together."

Scotland's hat-trick hero Duhan van der Merwe has been named Player of the Match and tells BBC One:

"I can't believe it to be honest, I have never scored a hat trick against England but I have to thank the boys for giving me the opportunity.

"I must be waking up and feeling like scoring tries. I guess I am just the lucky one to finish them off.

"We had a really good first phase, there was a lot of space open and I knew Finn [Russell] was going to kick it to me. Lucky for me it bounced in my hands and to get my first hat-trick against England is unbelievable."

Every time Scotland visited England's 22 they came away with points. England created things but final passes and handling errors let them down today.
