France can score tries and they can score good tries.

If I was their coach I would say get in England's half and attack off the first phase.

You have to give credit to England's line-outs they have been going to the back and attacking France's weak defence.

When you are set and the ball is at the back you can manoeuvre it.

If you start to go too soon then things fracture.

England have been accurate, but France have been the authors of their own misfortune at times.

  6. Half-time - France 14-35 Englandpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 27 April

So far so good for England.

They are 40 minutes from a third consecutive Grand Slam.

    Breathing room for England.

Amy Cokayne throws in at the line-out before joining the rolling maul and getting over for England's fifth try.

Holly Aitchison kicks the conversion and that will be that for the first half.

    Testing for the French.

They will feel that the officials' decisions have not gone their way and it is a big test in terms of psychology.

Into the closing stages of the first half and it's all a bit frantic.

Holly Aitchison's kick through ricochets off a French foot and then the attempted clearance is charged down by Meg Jones.

The ball trickles out into touch and we'll have a few seconds of calm.

France are over after a charge down but the try will not stand for offside.

The crowd certainly do not like that one.

    On we go...

Marlie Packer can reach out once, but she cannot commando roll.

She is down, but I think she is short of the try line.

Marlie Packer seals the bonus point.

Amy Cokayne fires another terrific line out and England roll towards the line before Packer grounds the ball.

It's a close call but the TMO thinks it's over the line and Holly Aitchison converts.

England are back on the front foot and running hard lines at the blue wall.

Their resolve is being tested for the first time in this tournament but they are rising to the challenge.

    What a try!

France at their best. The pass at pace from Pauline Bourdon Sansus finds Marine Menager and she backs herself.

    Instant reply.

France run a first phase move straight off the training paddock to feed Marine Menager out wide.

The wing breezes past Jess Breach and glides over the line for a fine try.

    Lina Queyroi kicks the conversion.

Nothing wrong with ambition, but it has to be tempered with realism.

France decided to run a ball when it was unwise to do, they have gifted seven points back to England.

    A gift.

It's a great long kick by Holly Aitchison and Emilie Boulard opts to take on Abby Dow after gathering the ball rather than clear her lines.

She makes enough room for the offload but throws it straight into Meg Jones' basket for the England centre to run clear and score.

Aitchison makes a great conversion from close to the touchline.
