So that's it from La Defense Arena and it's all over in Europe for Cardiff.

Tomos Williams scored two tries in between scores by Rhys Carre and Tinus de Beer as Cardiff picked up another bonus point.

But they could do little to stop the star-studded Parisiens scoring seven tries, all by different scorers, as the difference in finishing power told.

It's now their worst run in the Champions Cup for 20 years following a seventh successive defeat but Racing are into the last 16 - sending Ulster into the Challenge Cup.

    Thanks for joining us.

  3. 'I'm so proud of the effort' - Sherrattpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Racing 92 48-26 Cardiff

Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt told S4C: "What a perfect way to end a really tough block of 13 games than here, at this stadium, and with four youngsters going to the Wales squad.

"We wanted to show fight and give people a good match to watch and we did both of those things.

"I can’t be prouder of the players’ efforts. They were really up against it, they showed a lot of courage and scored four cracking tries.

"Obviously there’s a tinge of disappointment. We’ve got to get better at certain things. We’re giving teams too many easy scores and we’ve got to get that out of our game.

"But I’ve got to speak to myself about that because that’s what you get with so many young players. They are learning right at the sharp end against some of the best operators in world rugby.

"I’m massively pleased with the intent we showed, both with the ball and with our bodies and we can spend the next four weeks ironing out a few things."

    Janick Tarrit, Tristan Tedder con

Correrction. The score has been given to Tarrit not Rowlands.

Hard to see under all those bodies!

There was no way Racing would do anything else with that penalty than go for the driving maul and it works.

    That's try number seven.

  7. Sin-bin: Aled Summerhill (Cardiff)published at 74 mins

    Racing 92 41-26 Cardiff

Cardiff will see out this game with 14 men.

Juan Imhoff streaks through. Cardiff do well to scramble back to hold the line but wing Summerhill is offside in denying Racing the score.

Tinus de Beer try & conversion

And they've got the bonus. Well that's something.

Lopeti Timani did the heavy work, de Beer releases Owen Lane and is on-hand to receive the return pass to scamper over.

    He converts his own try.

  9. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Racing 92 41-19 Cardiff

Will Rowlands is getting treatment on the pitch. Hamstring? Or maybe just cramp.

Warren Gatland will be desperate for him to come through unscathed... the Racing lock is now one of the first names on the Wales teamsheet.

    Racing 92 41-19 Cardiff

So as it stands, Racing are heading to an away tie in the round of 16 while Ulster are dropping down to the Challenge Cup.

Is it right that one win gets you into the knockouts of Europe?

  11. Replacementpublished at 65 mins

    Racing 92 41-19 Cardiff

And that's Tomos Williams' day over Ellis Bevan is on.

Surely Williams is first-choice for Wales on current form?

What do you think? Thumbs up or down.

  12. try

Converted try: Racing 92 41-19 Cardiffpublished at 63 mins

Tomos Williams try, Tinus de Beer conversion

Williams grabs a second completely against the run of play.

And it's another charged down kick that earns it.

Tristan Tedder had plenty of time to get his kick away but Williams scampered up field, got an arm to the kick and claims a second.

Suddenly Cardiff are chasing a bonus.

  13. Replacementpublished at 60 mins

    Racing 92 41-12 Cardiff

And a big moment for hooker Dafydd Hughes who makes his Cardiff debut off the bench.

And he is immediately handed a lineout throw.

What a place to make your debut at senior rugby!

  14. Replacementspublished at 58 mins

The big lads all get a break.

Racing change their entire front-row while Cardiff change both props as well as lock Seb Davies for Teddy Williams.

  16. Ouch!published at 54 mins

    Racing 92 41-12 Cardiff

Baudonne has just completely flattened Tomos Williams off the ball - and from behind.

That could have been nasty and not sure how it's not a card.

Cardiff only get a penalty and Tinus de Beer kicks tamely up field.

He hasn't got his kicking boots today.

  17. Replacementpublished at 52 mins

    Racing 92 41-12 Cardiff

Thomas Young on for Alex Mann who can rest up now for the Six Nations.

Maxime Baudonne try, Tristan Tedder conversion

He's only been on the pitch for two minutes and he's already on the scoresheet!

Lopeti Timani is over-powered in the tackle and Racing are away.

Speculative cross-field kick is tapped back inside by Juan Imhoff to Inia Tabuavou and Baudonne dives over.

That's three tries in seven minutes and the game is over.

  19. Replacementpublished at 48 mins

    Racing 92 34-12 Cardiff

Le Garrec's day is over. Amazed he lasted until now.

Le Bail takes over and Maxime Baudonne is also on.

  20. try

Converted try: Racing 92 34-12 Cardiffpublished at 47 mins

Christian Wade try, Tristan Tedder conversion

Oh what a finish from the ex-England winger and suddenly Racing are well clear.

    Two tries in four minutes.

Cardiff hooker Efan Daniel is hammered in the tackle, Racing pour through at the breakdown to win back the ball and they waste no time getting it into Wade's hands.

Mason Grady did well to get across but is then turned inside out by Wade who shows great footwork and power to force his way over.
