It's great to see somebody just decide to go.

He was so decisive, didn't think about going wide, just full commitment to the line.

    Matt Currie

A brilliant score gives Edinburgh the lead for the first time.

Matt Currie shrugs off Tom Spring's attempted tackle, and from there just pins his ears back.

He shows an impressive turn of pace to get to the line, and Ben Healy knocks over a simple conversion.

  4. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

Thomas Ceyte bursts through the Edinburgh defensive line and then the big second row runs right through Ben Healy.

Edinburgh do well to get back though, and WP Nel gets over the ball to win a much-needed penalty.

The players are back out at Murrayfield.

How are you feeling at home? Do you fancy Edinburgh to come from behind in the second half?

    Hit those thumbs...

    Duncan Weir
Glasgow and Scotland fly-half on Viaplay

You'd think an offloading game in a storm would be risky, but Bayonne are so clinical with it.

I can't remember a loose one in that first half, and it's really good to watch.

    HT: Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

Considering this is a second-string Bayonne outfit, it's been fairly underwhelming from Sean Everitt's charges.

The South African coach has work to do during the interval.

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

Bayonne's lineout doesn't quite function, and Edinburgh head down the tunnel trailing by two points.

Tom Spring opened the scoring for the visitors, who have played some pretty expansive rugby considering the conditions, before Hamish Watson hit back for Edinburgh.

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

From absolutely nowhere, some gorgeous offloads take Bayonne into the Edinburgh 22.

Edinburgh then infringe as they scramble back, and Grant Gilchrist is probably a wee bit fortunate not to receive a yellow card for cynically slowing the ball down.

Tom Spring started that move, alongside Aurélien Callandret, and he now kicks the penalty to the corner.

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

There's not much happening, if truth be told.

An Edinburgh handling error in midfield means Bayonne will have a scrum.

  12. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

Bayonne are looking to play from their own 22, despite the tricky conditions.

After a few phases, centre Yan Lestrade decides enough is enough and kicks to touch.

  13. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Edinburgh 5-7 Bayonne

Bayonne look a real threat when they get turnover ball and have open space.

Edinburgh have looked pretty ragged, Hamish Watson's try aside.

You do wonder what the plan is for Sean Everitt's side. It's been far from a vintage performance.

    Hamish Watson

Hamish Watson drives over after a few phases, and Edinburgh are on the board.

It took a quick TMO check on the grounding, but it's clearly down.

Ben Healy's conversion bounces clear off the left-hand post.

Edinburgh win a penalty at the breakdown, and Ben Healy kicks to the corner...

  16. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Edinburgh 0-7 Bayonne

Ben Healy's long kick downfield is swirling all over the place in the wind, and Tom Spring can't take it cleanly.

Edinburgh have a scrum just outside the Bayonne 22, and a great platform to attack from.
