Brendan Rodgers has set his Celtic team to inflict the maximum of damage on their rivals. To inflict a bit of a doing.

What an afternoon and baptism of fire for 19-year-old Rangers defender Ross McCrorie. He'll make his Old Firm debut at Ibrox.

"It’s only big [for McCrorie] because it’s the first time he’s playing in the first XI in an Old Firm match," says Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha.

"But knowing him, his strong mentality, his winning, mentality, he’s a very good young player, he doesn’t look like he’s 19."

"This game will be important also for the coach [Pedro Caixinha] because they lost the last Celtic game at Ibrox 5-1," says former Rangers star Arthur Numan.

"So, a lot of the supporters are hoping they’ll see a team which will go out, give 110%, and make things difficult for Celtic.

"But respect to Celtic: they have an unbeaten run stretching back a lot of games but hopefully with the right attitude, tactics and mentality, Rangers can get a result against them.

"The moment when you’re actually there on the park, you feel the heat, you feel the tension. Then you think, ‘woah, this is something different.’ Because I’ve played in World Cups and European championships but the atmosphere against Celtic was absolutely fantastic.

"Rangers have a lot of new players, a lot of South American players, and for them it will be a new experience.“

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "We’ve played a lot [of Old Firm games] in the time we’ve been here. They are always really intense, experience is important but if you play young players you hope this is a game they can develop in and you can see how they cope.

"It's still very early in the season so we’ll see over the course of the campaign how it maps out and there are other teams that are stiff competition for us.

"These games matter no matter where you are in the league and they’re always very tough. It will be a brilliant atmosphere but it's important that you have the calmness to play with quality."
