Mark Selby 7-4 Ding Junhui
This is what we are playing for. Well, that, the glory, the title and the money etc. One man will have their hands on this trophy at some point tomorrow. First to 18 remember.
(At the moment we are in a very tense safety battle, with Selby 44-4 ahead).

A hushed capacity crowd. What a venue, and what a view of the action.

Quote MessageIt never rains, it pours for Ding Junhui supporters
As Mark Selby flukes a red into the bottom right corner.
Mark Selby 7-4 Ding Junhui
This is the scene at the start of the 12th frame that has Ding in a bit of a pickle. Four times he fouls, attempting to get out of this position. That's a pretty nice way to start the frame for Selby - 16 bonus points on the board.

A pretty decent match to watch, that one, with Hawkins winning 13-12 back in round two.

Mark Selby 7-4 Ding Junhui (1-103, Ding 103)
Whisper it quietly, but we could end up with a really good match here. Yes, Ding was pretty terrible at the start, but the confidence is building, the shoulders are looser, the pressure is easing and the pots are coming now.
Ding makes his first century of the match, a 103, and we are back to 7-4.
That is century 83. Four more needed for a tournament record.

Trevor Carey:, external Worst standard ever in a World Championship final. Ding is still in this, because Selby will give him plenty chances.
Wayne Roberts:, external Ding needs to find the one visit winning breaks or this could be over with a session to spare.
Mark Selby 7-3 Ding Junhui
Ooh, a chance for Ding. A pink to the middle pocket from Selby does not oblige, and this could soon be 7-4. Lots of people have written him off, but there is still a long, long way to go.
Remember, the first to 18 takes the glory.
Mark Selby 7-3 Ding Junhui
Don't worry, you haven't missed much. Not much has happened in this frame. Nothing has been potted yet.

Quote MessageApparently the tip had become rock hard and had been getting low. Chalking the tip scrapes away the surface so it does wear out quickly - particularly when you're playing a lot of snooker at the World Championship. He must have felt it had a different feel but a new tip is soft and spongy, although whether it affected that shot it's hard to tell.
So now you know.
Mark Selby 7-3 Ding Junhui
We saw Mark Selby miscue in the last frame. He had changed the tip of his cue last night after his semi-final win over Marco Fu. But why would you do that? Let's ask an expert and he will tell you.

We asked if anyone had pictures of them at the Crucible.
If you have, then tweet us using #bbcsnooker and we will put them in this page.
Mark Selby 7-3 Ding Junhui (30-92, Ding 76)
This frame should be in the bag for Ding after a break of 76. A missed red with the rest brings Selby back, but he leaves an easy one and the frame is now Ding's. A much-needed confidence boost for the man from China.
Mark Selby 7-2 Ding Junhui
We are in the 10th frame and Ding has just made his highest break of the match - 54 and counting...
Mark Selby 7-2 Ding Junhui
Well, this wasn't planned. Mark Selby goes airborne, unintentionally. Luckily for him there is no damage done to his cue, his pride maybe, but not his cue.

Angela Flanagan: So one-sided, rotten end to a good Championship, don't see it even going to the final session.
Mary O'Connell: Was so looking forward to this final and it's so disappointing. Ding Junhui has looked a beaten man since the second frame.
Stuart Snowden: Come on on Ding. Let's have a new winner. Some snooker talent coming out of Asia at moment so can only be good for the game.
Mark Selby 7-2 Ding Junhui
So you're 7-2 down, you don't really want to gift your opponent 12 points by missing a pack of reds three times. But that's what happens to Ding, who finally connects at the fourth attempt.

Meanwhile, back in China, Ding's popularity continues to soar. It may be the small hours of the morning, but he's shown live across Asia - including bars like this in Beijing.
Mark Selby 7-2 Ding Junhui (68-22)
As William said, Ding needed a good start. He didn't get it. Selby restores his five-frame lead with it now 7-2.
That was the first of nine frames tonight, so if Selby wins them all it will be 15-2 in the first to 18 frame match.
