O’Sullivan 2-2 Allen
Stop it, Ronnie! A yellow that bends geometry. No ton, but snookering artistry. The players head to the restroom all square for the interval.
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 83-0
All of this from the most magnificent opening red. Cue ball in balk. red close to right corner. From then on, it has been sensational. 987th century to come?
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 61-0
Debate in the office has now turned to the greatest sport-related game shows. O'Sullivan is about to wrap this one up....
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 19-0
Last one on Big Break (for now - I can't say it won't come up again today, I'm only human) - how good was the theme tune? Top five of BBC TV shows in the 90s? Maybe even top three.
"I'm gonna be snookering you tonight."
O'Sullivan is living his best life in the balls. This one should be all square at the interval.
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 1-0
There were 222 episodes of Big Break. 222! It ran from 1991 to 2002. That's my childhood, right there. Saturday nights, I think. Followed by the National Lottery. Back when the lottery was decent. 49 numbers, a tenner if you matched three. Now they think a Lucky Dip for the next draw is a decent prize.
Anyway, even Mark Allen is applauding this long red from Ronnie O'Sullivan...
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 0-0
How good was Big Break, by the way? You tell me a better concept for a game show than pro-am snooker against the clock.
John Virgo's waistcoats. John Virgo's trick shots. The banter with Jim Davidson.
"Say goodnight, JV"
"Goodnight JV!"
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 0-0
The way these lads are lining up and playing their shots, you'd thing it was an episode of Big Break. Rapid stuff.

If there are amateurs wanting to know how to control a cue ball watch this match. We've got two of the very best. It's a been clinic.
When they get among the pink and black you never see the cue ball travelling a big distance. It's all just little stuns, screws and cannons, it's beautiful to watch.
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen: 4th frame: 0-0
We're averaging 18 seconds per shot. A quick game is a good game.
O’Sullivan 1-2 Allen
Lovely positional play from Mark Allen gets him back ahead. The break of 74 is ended when a cut red to right middle hits the near jaw. O'Sullivan thinks about attempting the snookers, but a peek at the table leads him to decide the discretion is the better part of valour.
O’Sullivan 1-1 Allen: 3rd frame: 0-74
Stick a fork in it. After a scrappy first, the second and third have been high quality. A ton of his own for Mark Allen?
O’Sullivan 1-1 Allen: 3rd frame: 0-22
Allen is a cat, right amongst the pigeon-like balls here. The cue ball is barely moving, but reds and blacks are disappearing into corners like teenagers in a nightclub. This third frame might not be long for this world.

With the Scottish Open up next, a deep run in Glasgow with a few more centuries means O'Sullivan may well reach the 1,000 milestone at next month's Masters at Alexandra Palace.
On journalist jested that the perfect scenario would be to make it in the deciding frame of the final with a 147.
O’Sullivan 1-1 Allen: 3rd frame: 0-0
The referee holds up a gloved white hand, O'Sullivan gets the third under way as the silver trophy sits proudly at the bottom of the arena.

On Mark Allen being critical on himself after a tough semi-final against Stuart Bingham..
He can be brutally honest about his form and with his opinions in general. At times this week he's produced some incredible snooker. Against Neil Robertson 5-4 down to bring two centuries when he really needed it, and last night he also produced when he needed it. He's still scored six or seven centuries this week.
I don't think he's playing that bad but all snooker players can be hypercritical.
O’Sullivan 1-1 Allen
He's a puppeteer, getting the white ball to dance to his tune. That's career century 986 for Ronnie O'Sullivan. No clearance, but the final is all square.
O’Sullivan 0-1 Allen: 2nd frame: 70-0
Snookers required for Allen. Frame won for Ronnie. Eyes on the century now...
O’Sullivan 0-1 Allen: 2nd frame: 57-0
O'Sullivan doing what he does best - winning frames in the blink of an eye. 68 the target here.
O’Sullivan 0-1 Allen: 2nd frame: 42-0
Question: Is there a better enhancement to the fan experience than those little earpieces that let those in attendance listen to commentary? They have them at cricket and rugby, and here there are patrons with green gadgets hanging from their heads. If you fiddle with them, you can get 6 Music, too.
