An incredible turnaround in this final - as emphatic as it could be.

There is actually a stunned silence among the crowd - I don't think they can quite comprehend what is going on.

    Make that 25 centuries, Stephen.

Mark Allen adds a 109 to his earlier 132 and that's seven frames on the spin.

    Stephen Hendry

He's been an absolute scoring machine this season, Mark Allen, 24 centuries.

That's part of the reason why this is his third ranking final in a row.

    Allen 7-6 Ding

Another 50 break from Mark Allen - he's registered a half-century in seven successive frames now.

He's won six of those and this looks like being the seventh. Snookers required again for Ding - and he won't be coming back to the table in this one.

    Allen 7-6 Ding

Mark Allen's long game is increasingly on point.

A shot-to-nothing long red affords him an easy snooker behind the brown.

Ding escapes but leaves an easy red and Allen has a great chance to open up a two-frame gap.

    Allen 7-6 Ding

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

It's the style in which Mark has done it - he's been like this all week. He's really played tenacious stuff, the type of snooker that is controlled and clinical, more than hustling and bustling.

It's just taking one or two more seconds a shot but he looks more considered every shot and it's draining the life out of his opponent, and Ding has lost all his confidence.

  10. 'Running in treacle'published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2022

    Allen 7-6 Ding

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

Mark Allen has great determination and grit.

For all the world he looked subdued this afternoon, there was no spark in him.

He's really turned it around and looks like the winner at the moment.

Massive frame coming up and Ding must feel like he's running in treacle.

  11. Unstoppable Allen?published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2022

    Allen 7-6 Ding

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at York Barbican

For the first time today, Mark Allen hits the front and at the moment he looks unstoppable. Ding Junhui doesn't know what has hit him and his body language is not looking too good with mistakes creeping into his game.

At the moment there only looks one winner. But, then again, we said the exact opposite at about quarter to five.

Ding, remember, held a 6-1 lead with one frame of the afternoon session to go. Since then, in the next six frames (all won by Allen) the Northern Irishman has scored 536 points, while Ding has scored just 111.

  12. Allen ahead for the first timepublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2022

    Allen 7-6 Ding

In getting out of that snooker, Allen almost snookered Ding in return.

He can just clip the red but the white flies up and down the table into the corner pocket.

Ding concedes and Mark Allen leads the 2022 UK Championship final for the first time.

    Allen 6-6 Ding

Similar feel to the frame before the interval.

Ding needed snookers in that one - got them, but still went on to lose.

He needs one snooker here, gets one, but Allen escapes. It's the Pistol's frame to lose.

  15. Postpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2022

    Allen 6-6 Ding

Ding breaks down on 22. A cut-back red to the middle with the white ball near the cushion just catches the knuckle.

It leaves Mark Allen a long red as frame ball and he knocks in a beauty. Blue follows and he's 47 up with 43 on.

    Allen 6-6 Ding

That Stephen Hendry comment was in response to Ding missing a decent long chance - but Mark Allen has just missed an even easier one.

Shredsville as Jimmy White calls it - and it's only 6-6!

Big chance for Ding to cut into the 63-point deficit in this 13th frame - but he's barely had a sniff this evening.

    Allen 6-6 Ding

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Ding has 33% long pot success in this final - that is not good at all.

He seems to be OK when he's playing top spin but when he has to play with power, he just hasn't timed it well at all.

Matt Gunner: Worried about Ding now. Previously, he can get very low pretty quick and start feeling sorry for himself. Could see Allen winning eight frames in a row and clinching this 10-6. Looking like Allen is winning five in a row and if he does, it's on.

    Allen 6-6 Ding

Mark Allen leaves a cut-able red near the middle, a lifeline for Ding Junhui.

But he can't land on a colour. Nothing's easy for the 'Dragon' tonight.

    Allen 6-6 Ding

A couple of reds have just struggled into the pocket as Mark Allen nears the winning line in this frame.

But a loose positional shot on the black leaves him a choice between a dangerous plant or a safety.

It's 63-0 with seven reds still on the table. He chooses the safety shot.
