    Allen 5-6 Ding

Ding gets Allen in a snooker - he escapes off one cushion.

A superb reply from Ding, takes the cue ball off two rails behind the black. Stunning shot.

Allen fouls - only one snooker needed now. My goodness, if Ding can pinch this frame...

    Allen 5-6 Ding

Ding Junhui not giving up. A couple of reds with blacks keep him in this frame but he needs two snookers with one red remaining.

    Allen 5-6 Ding

An errant Ding Junhui safety leaves a red near the left corner and Mark Allen dispatches it.

A blue and another red follow - so Ding needs snookers. Allen on fire.

Little things are starting to happen for Mark Allen.

When you are playing well, you start to get that little bit of run.

    Allen 5-6 Ding

Wow. Allen decides on a huge swerve. It's like a banana shot. It hits one of the reds near the pocket - it doesn't go in but it knocks both reds into a safer spot.

    Allen 5-6 Ding

There are two reds over the right corner pocket but Ding has covered both with an incredibly accurate safety shot. White on the baulk cushion too.

Mark Allen is taking a long ponder here. No wonder. Very hard shot coming up.

Some incredible stats from this session. Ding got the first 33 points of it, but Allen then got 357 in a row without response, which saw him take the ninth, 10th and 11th frames as well as moving 56 points ahead in the 12th.

Allen then went in-off to gift Ding four points, but the Chinese player went almost an hour without potting a single ball.

    Allen 5-6 Ding

It wasn't exactly a mistake - Mark Allen leaves Ding a long red but the white is tight on the baulk cushion.

With no other option, he produces a sensational pot but can't get on a colour.

    Just a safety.

Mark Allen's 52-point lead could evaporate quickly with a mistake here.

Safety battle ongoing - Ding has not potted a ball in almost an hour...

    Turning point?

Mark Allen loses position slightly, leaves himself on the side cushion with a tough red - he pots it in the corner but goes in off in the middle!

He still leads 56-4, mind, and no easy starter for Ding Junhui who attempts a plant, misses, but gets the cue ball back safely to baulk.

Paul Curran: This is turning into a cracking final.

William Callaghan: Absolutely top class snooker so far tonight from Mark Allen, just one behind at 6-5, the next frame before the mid-session interval is going to be massive.

Colin the caretaker: 10-6 to Allen? He's conjured up his inner champion.

Get yourself comfortable, we're here for the long haul. Brilliant from Mark Allen as he makes a break of 132 and the 6-1 deficit seems a long time ago.

We're at 6-5 to Ding, but Allen's momentum and confidence is building with every shot. We could well be witnessing something truly special. It's now anyone's game.

If you asked Mark Allen if he wants the interval after this frame, he'd say no.

He doesn't want to break for 15 minutes, he's got all the momentum here.

    Mark Allen is in AGAIN!

Ding Junhui leaves him a middle distance red and in this mood it might as well be over the bag.

Mark Allen trailed 6-1 at one stage of this final.

He's just added a 132 clearance - his first century of the day - to breaks of 79, 60 and 93 to reduce his deficit to just a single frame.

Huge shot from Mark Allen as he breaks into the pack of reds off the black and one lands nicely over the middle pocket.

Another 50 break and counting. Just two reds and two colours for 5-6.

Allen runs out of position slightly on the next black but plays a lovely recovery shot.

26fletch: Mark Allen looks to be inhaling hot Lemsip if you ask me.

Alan Lee: Great to see the 'Pistol' looking and playing so well. Seems to have found his happy place.

    Allen 4-6 Ding

Between frames, Mark Allen has been caressing a hot drink in his chair, almost inhaling it, without drinking it.

Not sure if he's just warming his hands but whatever he's doing, it's working.

He's back in the balls in frame 11 after Ding Junhui misses a long red he'd expect to get more often than not.

It’s getting interesting now with a superb break of 93 from Mark Allen pulling the gap back to two frames.

Ding may just be getting nervous now.

Ding's won six frames already but he won't settle tonight until he wins his first frame of the evening.

The longer Mark Allen can keep him in that chair, the higher his chances of a comeback become.
