21:25Third-placed Jessica Ennis-Hill: "After the Anniversary Games, I felt a little bit more confident in my ability. I wanted to make it 100% worthwhile and come back with a medal because I have to leave my son behind. It's incredibly hard, and the only person who really sees how hard it is is my husband Andy. But it's the most rewarding."

21:24SPOTY runner-up Kevin Sinfield: "It's completely unbelievable, I'm really humbled. To be sat here is almost uncomfortable, to win an individual award when I've played a team sport all my life. But it's been a brilliant night, it's never happened before for a rugby league player. The game has given me absolutely everything. The rugby league family have been brilliant."
'A triumph'published at 21:22
21:22Lifetime Achievement Award winner AP McCoy: "The whole evening was a triumph - it made me very proud of myself and Northern Ireland. Hopefully I will find something that will excite me like horse racing did, but I didn't leave anything behind."

2015 was also the yearFloyd MayweatherandManny Pacquiaofinally got it on in the ring. It was never likely to live up to expectation - and it didn't - butMayweather wonto add further weight to his claim of being the greatest ever.
However, perhaps the boxing story to really capture the imagination wasAnthony Crolla winning the WBA lightweight title less than a year after he suffered a fractured skull when confronting burglars.
Crolla is now one of four world champions from Greater Manchester - the others are, of course, Tyson Fury, Scott Quigg and Terry Flanagan.
Breeding ground.

The undoubted snooker story of the year saw outsider Stuart Bingham win the World Championship for the first time at the Crucible in May. Bingham was not even in the reckoning at the start of the tournament, but beating favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump, before a brilliant victory in the final against Shaun Murphy, saw his name etched in history forever.
'It's all worth it'published at 21:14
21:14Lifetime achievement winner AP McCoy said: "Racing is a wonderful sport, I was very lucky to live my life as a jockey through it.
"There are so many people I would like to thank. I would like to thank the horses I have ridden, the stable lads and lasses who look after them so well, to the BBC for this – for this is amazing.
"I would like to congratulate all the 12 contestants. All I would like to say is make the sacrifices because it is worth it.”

21:07On a serious note, what is there to do on a weekend in Worthing? I've never been. I'm sure it's a decent enough place though.

Despite being one of the most talented sportsmen the UK has ever produced, Murray appears to be nervous and humble on stage. Almost surprised to win the award.
He's got time to slip in a gag though...
