After Britain's Jordanne Whiley reached Sunday's women's wheelchair doubles final earlier, compatriot Lucy Shuker was hoping to join her.

But Shuker and German partner Sabine Ellerbrock were beaten 6-1 6-0 in the second semi-final by the all-Dutch pair of Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot, who are the defending champions.

The players are knocking up under a blue/white Centre Court sky. Milos Raonic is already up to 141mph with serves that nearly get Sue Barker on the back of the head. "Time" from the chair, a quick sit down, then on to the dancefloor. Raonic to get us under way.

It's not been going well for the Great Britain in the mixed doubles this afternoon. Jamie Murray and his Australian partner Casey Dellacqua have lost in the quarter-finals, beaten 6-2 3-6 6-3 by Max Mirnyi and Hao-Ching Chan.

And, at the same stage, British pair Neal Skupski and Naomi Broady are a set and a break down to Aisam Qureshi and Vera Dushevina.

Thank you, Michael. One semi down, one to go. The seven-time champ versus the first-time semi-finalist. The old maestro versus the young pretender. The ballet dancer versus the butcher.

Roger Federer v Milos Raonic for the right to meet Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Ready?

"Roger Federer has to be a huge favourite here and although Milos has the big serve, Roger is never bothered by that.

"Milos will have to serve the lights out and take chances on Roger's serve."

A fresh set of line judges are out. Elbow pads and crash helmets in place in preparation of the Milos Raonic serve.

Roger Federer and the totemic Canadian have walked out onto court. Still far from a full house on Centre Court. And you can't really blame them.

I'm handing the live text baton to Stephan Shemilt. You are in very safe hands.

Novak Djokovic speaking to BBC Sport following his 6-4 3-6 7-6 7-6 win over Grigor Dimitrov: "I was playing in the semi-final against a future star, he is already a top player after beating Murray and he deserves respect for that. For his first semi he was really fighting and it it was tough.

"Like my last match against Cilic I allowed my opponent back into the match and I am just pleased to go through.

"He has quality shots especially the running forehand and a great touch and he is playing well when is aggressive and defending and that is something he has improved on in the last six months or so. It is a good win for me I am glad to be part of a great match."

Two-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"It was great stuff, great drama, worthy of a semi-final. I'm not sure if Novak will be pleased, he ground it out but he did let Dimitrov back in. If he's going to win this Championship, he can't allow that to happen."

The match weighed in at a chunky three hours two minutes.

Once the two players have hugged it out at the net and made their exits, around three-quarters of Centre Court follow suit in search of refreshments.

Roger Federer and Milos Raonic might have to wait for everyone to scrape together their senses before they take to the floor.

Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"I wouldn't say Djokovic was lucky - he was the better player and stepped up in the tie-break. It was a great tournament for Dimitrov.

"Novak said he knew he let Dimitrov back in the match but he was the better player. Dimitrov will win a Grand Slam sooner or later but not yet."

What a match that was. Stuff to make your brain buzz.

Grigor Dimitrov will be proud of what he did today, but two shocking games, the fifth in the first set and the third in the fourth set, will linger in the mind.

He threw away his serve twice and that is all it takes sometime against someone like Novak Djokovic who will snatch up anything you give him and make it hurt.

"Dimitrov has got an awful lot be proud off, he showed a lot of character and a lot of class. But Novak Djokovic is as tough mentally as you will ever see on a tennis court."

Say it ain't so, Grigor. The serve gremlins are back. Double fault and it is 7-6 Djokovic and match point on the Serb's serve. Absolutely clutch. Dimitrov pings away a winner as Djokovic makes an over-eager burst to the net. There is no escape on the next though.

Dimitrov slips at the back of the court to give the top seed 8-7 and Djoko converts with a flick of net-cord helping take the final forehand past his foe.

Maria Sharapova clenches that trademark fist. Her man has 6-3 and three set points. Djokovic saves the first via a hum-dinging point of slip, slide, duck and dive. Djokovic saves the second as well. There is one more in the holster though and this time it is on the Dimitrov serve.

No dice. Djokovic gets a look at a second serve, presses the net and Dimitrov can only fire into the gauze on the stretch.

Back on serve. Back in the balance.

Brett Curtis:, external This fourth set has turned an entertaining but error-strewn match into a humdinger. You can't dislike Dimitrov.

Matt McGlone:, external Playing against Djokovic must be like playing a brick wall. Amazing defence!

Matthew Winder:, external Mixed emotions here. Hungry for more tennis and a final set but can't be having it running into France vs Germany.

  17. Tie-break updatepublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 4 July 2014

Novak Djokovic strays a little long to give away the first mini-break and allow Grigor Dimitrov to 2-1. Biff, bosh, bop. Both men slugging away, who will blink first? Dimitrov summons his courage, presses the net and puts away the 19th stroke of the rally for 3-1. Djokovic cracks a forehand into the top of the tape on the next point.

Djokovic lures Dimitrov into the same error and the Bulgarian has a 4-2 lead at the changeover.

The mojo is increasingly with Grigor Dimitrov. The younger man holds serve to love after taking Novak Djokovic to some dark and dangerous places in the previous game.

He will have a last haul at the Djokovic serve and then, if there is no break, a tie-break. He might be favourite for the set now.
