The stats don't make pretty reading for the Stanimal. He only won 16 out of 45 points on his own serve! Speaking on TV, Djokovic rates his two performances in the tournament so far as 10 out of 10. Hard to disagree.

Tim Purcell:, external Is Djoko the Serbian word for relentless? Or awesome? Or phenomenal? Stan's been Djoko'd.

Michael Griffiths:, external Two of the best players in the world can#'t muster up enough games between them to even force a tie breaker against Novak.

"The only person who could stop Djokovic is Federer. On his day he has it in him, especially in the short format over three sets. Federer's record in this event is one of the best and it's quite possible. It's a match-up the crowd would love to see. I don't think it's a complete shoe-in for Novak."

Novak Djokovic: "It was a great match, no question. The opening three games were quite long but after that I managed to get back in the first set. I swung through my shots and he made a lot of unforced errors. He wasn't close to his best and I succeeded very well with what I wanted to do.

On fatherhood: "It's been a different kind of feeling on the court since I became a father. I hope my son can watch me play and support me one day."

"From a competitive point of view, the start of the match was exactly what you want to see, but it just turned so quickly. Wawrinka seemed to lose his focus straight away. I think the problem is for Wawrinka to win these matches he has to be an eight or nine out of 10, finding his targets with no margin for error."

"The nature of the way Wawrinka's game fell away was alarming. Then when Djokovic started to turn the screw he had no answer."

What a way to finish. Djokovic puts away a smash and claims his first match point with a pearler of a forehand down the line. Ruthless.

Another huge cheer for a blazing Wawrinka winner, but unfortunately its only purpose is to save the first of three break points. When a forehand lands beyond the baseline, Djokovic is one game away from the match. When you bear in mind that Wawrinka won the first two games........

"It feels right now that Wawrinka is going to have to hit 20 winners to get back into the match - good luck doing that on a fairly slow indoor court against Novak Djokovic."

Stan has hit 27 unforced errors so far.

A Wawrinka winner brings one of the loudest cheers of the night from the crowd. They came to see a contest, but sadly I don't think it will be long before they are queuing for the Docklands Light Railway. Two unforced errors from the Swiss and it's 4-0.

"It shows from the magnitude of this event that the guys who have come here for the first time -Cilic and Raonic - have been tight and never settled. It is all to do with the size of this event - it means so much and is one of the biggest titles going."

"Djokovic is beginning to steamroller Wawrinka, who looks like he could do with the watching Springbok rugby squad to come and help him out. I can now testify that walking round a corner into Victor Matfield is a jarring experience. Not that it would worry Djokovic at the moment, the man is looking invincible."

Even if you put Borg, McEnroe and Connors on the other side o the net, I'm not sure they could contend with Djokovic in this form. The Serb breaks serve to love and strides to his chair.

Nuren:, external "Djokovic is one of the best tennis players in history. He has won 7 slams in most competitive era ever. Djokovic is underrated because of the dominance of both Nadal and Federer for a long time."

John:, external "Novak Djokovic gets the credit from the pundits & ex players who are the ones that count, the fans hearts are with R&R (Rafa & Roger) - Novak just isn't there."

This isn't just tennis from another planet from Djokovic. The world number one has found another solar system. One dream point tells the story of another one-sided game. A blistering forehand is met by a Wawrinka drop shot, but Djokovic bursts to the ball at lightning pace and chips it with the deftest of touches across his opponent for a winner. Wawrinka claps on his racquet, the crowd rise to their feet. Unstoppable.

What now, Stan? The Swiss world number four has a go at serve and volley but Djokovic's return is so powerful that he can't control his shot. two break points to Djokovic now. A successful challenge confirms an ace to save the first one. But Djokovic grabs the second and is almost on the home straight now...

"I think you can make a very strong case to say Novak Djokovic is getting even better. When he does make a mistake, it is at a point where he can afford to do it, he's got such a great match brain - it's like a high powered computer. That was Novak playing at around six out of 10 yet he was able to win the set 6-3."
