Credit to Yuki Bhambri - this lad has got bouncebackability in spades. He leads 30-0, then 40-15 as he aims to instantly break back and level. The Indian has a chance at 40-30 as he pounds the Murray base-line, but then crashes a sliced return into the net. Let off for the Briton, who forces deuce before seeing out the game with an ace down the middle. One game from taking a two set to love lead...

  7. MURRAY BREAKSpublished at 03:17 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2015

That could be just about that for the second set. Two break points for Murray, who took command with a simply stunning cross-court backhand at 15-0. Only he will know how he managed to pull that shot out of the top drawer. The Briton hits base line after base line as he holds two break points, with Bhambri helping him out by finally crumbling with a long return.

Andy Murray, like a hungry wolf, is smelling blood now. The world number six looks like he's had enough of this pesky opponent, pouncing quickly to move 30-0 ahead.

Oh, hang on. Bhambri has different ideas. The Indian wins three straight points to move within one of another hold, but then gets a little giddy and slices a backhand into the net. Deuce it is.

Murray is an advantage behind before slapping a forehand return long - and Bhambri whoops with delight.

Legendary coach Nick Bollettieri: "It is hard to believe that Bhambri is 317th in the world rankings after seeing some of his shots here. It just shows that it is the mental part - the self-belief - that makes the difference."

Excellent stuff from Bhambri, as the world number 317 has Murray on the run. A couple of little jump shots - "trick shots" says 5 live's David Law put him 30-0 to the good.

But Murray imposes himself again with a powerful cross-shot return which leaves Bhambri floundering. He didn't enjoy being 'mugged off' by his Indian opponent.

The pair trade blows as we go to deuce, then it is advantage Murray after a massive forehand down the line. However, Bhambri holds on as they go for a well-earned sit down and swig of water.

Break point for...Yuki Bhambri. I didn't see that one coming. Andy Murray battles back though, forcing deuce before ending Bhambri's hopes of an early breakthrough with a stinging ace.

"Murray is in control despite that mid-set slip in the opener. There is drama off court, sort of, as some spectators in the front row complain to the umpire that they can't see past the sizeable canopies above the players' chairs. The ball boys are now dutifully taking them down after each changeover. If it's not one thing...."
