"As she gets into the game, I think you will see more drop shots from Radwanska. It is hard when your opponent is hitting the ball so hard."

Still Bouchard is going for it. Too much though as sends a double-handed backhand wide.

Radwanska's serve down the middle doesn't come back but a Bouchard smash brings it back to 30-15.

Another good serve from the Pole, again at Bouchard's forehand, takes her to a point from levelling and she does just that as her opponent volleys long.

    *Radwanska 1-2 Bouchard

Bouchard means business. She is hammering the ball at her opponent and, so far, it is working.

A clean winner down the line is followed by a forced error from a rattled Radwanska. Such power as another hefty backhand is unreturnable taking Bouchard to 40-15.

It is high-risk stuff from the Canadian as she sends a forehand wide but a big serve and she takes the game.

An aggressive start from Bouchard but she sends a forehand wide to give Radwanska the opening point of her service game.

The Pole, dressed in florescent pink, gives Bouchard a sniff of a break though as she goes long and then nets to trail 15-30.

Bouchard is drilling the ball deep but, a shot strikes the top of the net and Radwanska takes advantage as she sends an approach deep before volleying away.

Scare averted as she wins the next two points to level.

    Radwanska 0-1 Bouchard

Bouchard serves first and Radwanka nets.

A sharp start from the Canadian as a backhand winner takes her to 40-15 before smashing the ball down into the court and away into the backboards.

    A regulation hold.

    Radwanska v Bouchard

    Leon Smith

"This should be a wonderful match. Complete different contrast of style. Bouchard will hit the ball flat and hard and creates serious power. Radwanska is so good to watch though and makes players miss."

    Radwanska v Bouchard

Canada's Eugenie Bouchard is back on track.

The 21-year-old showed her huge potential by making the last four in Australia in  2014, and followed it up by reaching both the French Open semi-final and Wimbledon final that year.

But concussion from slipping in the US Open locker-room derailed her 2015 season and she is not getting her hopes up, with the dangerous Radwanska up next.

"I had zero expectations (ahead of the tournament), I still do," said Bouchard.

She won the biggest title of her career at the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore and was then crowned Shenzhen Open winner this month.

Her best result in Australia was losing in the semi-final in 2010.
