Bedene should gobble up a forehand at the net but messes it up for 15-15. And then he's given a taste of chaser Murray, who somehow stretches a backhand to what looked like a winner and forces the error from Bedene.

The British number two uses a sweet second serve to level up, but he goes long with a lob and faces a break point.

Murray, 30-0 up, goes for a looping, kick-up second serve, but double faults.

Bedene hits a few perfectly deep, until he goes a little too deep and Murray thinks he has the game with an ace.

It's challenged by Bedene - but it's fruitless.

Kelsey Suggitt: Football doesn't have a hamster's chance of getting in the way of the Murray/Bedene match

Vicki Howard: Hamsters don't like football either

We're wondering what the collective noun for hamsters is - I'm going for a wheel. A wheel of hamsters.

    *Murray 6-3 0-1 Bedene

Maybe Murray is keen to catch the second half?

A lovely down-the-line winner at the net gives him 0-30. Double fault and three break points. Bedene might be buckling.

Hold up - I speak too soon.

Murray drifts a return long, Aljaz thumps a lovely forehand to the corner and then aces to save all of thems break points.

He then hands advantage to Murray, only to save another break point. And whoop-whoo, a sultry forehand down the line to give himself advantage. Wayward backhand though and we return to deuce. But Bedene aces his way out of trouble.

"This is a big game here for Bedene after losing that first set. He does not want to go down an early break. Just a little belief has evaporated in his game and his body language".

There it is - ace down the middle. First set to the British number one.

New balls for Bedene. He hits one of them long for 0-15. One into the net for 0-30. And then sees Murray put one awkwardly into the net.

Bedene tries to drop one over the net - Murray's grateful to see it come up short. Two break points.

Ace from Bedene... But Murray challenges. Hawkeye backs up the line judge. Although the big screen in centre court shows England v Wales - Murray wants to see the proof. You'll just have to trust us Andy.

No matter - Bedene goes long and Murray will serve for the set.

"You can really see the potential Bedene has. He is number 58 in the world but if he gets a good run, injury free he could be a top 20 player."

Murray races into a 0-30 lead on Bedene's serve - how's your steel Aljaz?

Boom. Ace and then a winner at the net. His steel is steely.

Oh boy - a crosscourt forehand winner from Bedene out of nowhere.

Murray's not done though, a return winner with a bit of anger on it.

Bedene holds though, Murray handing over the game by going long.

"When you are playing someone like Murray, you have to play outside your comfort zone. Bedene may serve a few more double faults as he has to go for bigger serves."

Murray finding a rhythm on his serve - although he gives Bedene a sniff with a drop shot that comes up short for 30-15.

A forehand to the corner which Bedene stretches into the net is good enough to hold.

    *Murray 2-2 Bedene

Murray's returning is something else these days. All the pace Bedene sticks on this serve out wide comes back at him right on his toes - he can only put it into the net.

But Bedene looks unruffled and takes a 30-15 lead. Now he steps off the baseline for a winning forehand, before putting another into the net. No worries - this crosscourt forehand is sublime and secures the hold.

Kyle Edmund has been talking to the media - and he is taking nothing for granted in terms of his quarter-final opponent.

"I’ve got good respect for both players and we’ll have to wait and see what happens," said the Yorkshireman. "I guess it’s nice there are two British match-ups in two days, nice for the fans.

"I’ve played Aljaz three times and beaten him once. I’ve never played Andy but practised with him a lot. He's number two in the world for a reason, I'd just try to play my game. Both would be tough matches."
