    Murray 2-1 Bedene*

The first bish-bash-bosh game of the match - a hold to love from Murray, who delivers a back-hand slice with so much spin it slithers like a snake down the line. Lovely.

    *Murray 1-1 Bedene

Bedene shows that he can also start his serve with a thundering ace.

But what reactions from Murray - Bedene hits a casual overhead volley and the Scot sticks out a racquet and watches the ball loop over his opponent and in.

Bedene gets another volley - this one he dispatches for 40-30, and looks to wrap it up by coming into the net, only to be lobbed by a trademark Murray dink over his head for deuce.

A cracking ace out wide for advantage to the Slovenian-Brit, but he can't take one off his toes and goes into the net to go back to deuce, before crunching another ace down the middle.

Murray backhands into the net. Bedene holds.

    Long games so far.

Plenty of British interest in Birmingham, too.

Johanna Konta could play three matches at the Aegon Classic today - the British number one is second on centre court to face Japan's Misaki Doi in the first round. She could be back for a second-round match, should she win, and may even dabble in a doubles game.

Brit Heather Watson is also set to play her second-round match against Barbora Strycova later today.

Although thee's been rain interruptions at Edgbaston today - so perhaps none of that will actually happen.

    Murray 1-0 Bedene*

Here we go then. Andy Murray shows he means business with a match-starting ace.

But a couple of wayward efforts, including a forehand that clips the net and drifts wide, bring it to 30-30.

Murray pops one up for Bedene to march on to and hit a lovely passing backhand winner for break point. But he puts a forehand into the net for deuce, now game point for Murray, back to deuce and finally he gets the hold as Bedene slaps into the net.

More worryingly, Murray looks to be having a few issues with his shoulder.

"Bedene has nothing to lose - he should enjoy it but this guy is not here to make up the numbers. He can do damage."

  9. Pump it uppublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

Aljaz Bedene says he will be "pumped" for this one.

"I will definitely give my best. Andy Murray is one of the greatest fighters in tennis and we are lucky to have him."

It will be interesting to see how the Queen's crowd take to the British convert against home favourite Andy Murray.

Centre court is probably about 80% full.

Dobablo: Start of tennis between Brit-Scot and Brit-Slovenian to play Brit-South African has been delayed by Brit-summer

The players are out on centre court. Although I doubt this Scottish and Slovenian born pair will be in a hurry to watch England v Wales.

Meanwhile, this morning I found a picture of Ivan Lendl smiling.

Somewhere, behind that wrought-iron chest bone, is a beating heart capable of love and empathy. Here's to big, cuddly Ivan.

The gloom above Queen’s Club was matched around the grounds when news broke this morning that Kyle Edmund and Paul-Henri Mathieu would not be taking to court, with the champagne tent doing an unusually brisk morning trade as alternative plans were made.

Confidence is not exactly high that Andy Murray and Aljaz Bedene will enjoy an uninterrupted afternoon - there are plenty of umbrellas up right now and tournament director Stephen Farrow is in his now standard pose, phone pressed to his ear as he surveys the skies.

  15. Umbrellas are being lowered...published at 13:26 British Summer Time 16 June 2016

We could be nearing play, as all the brollies have been retracted. No sign of the players, mind.

Blokes in suits are talking to each other and talking into walkie-talkies. They're no doubt making big, important decisions.

Plenty of umbrellas are hoisted amid the smattering of spectators who have taken to their seats.

It's just started dribbling at Queen's - supposedly a short shower. The players are being held back until it passes over.

So, Kyle Edmund's walkover means he will face the winner of Andy Murray v Aljaz Bedene and set up the first all-British quarter-final at Queen's in the Open era.

    It's Brit-popular.

    BBC Two

Plenty of ways to keep across the match.

Because of that interfering football game, the first 15 minutes from 13:15 BST will be on the Red Button, it then switches to BBC Two from 13:30 BST.

You can watch it without having to channel hop at the top of this page, of course.

And there's also coverage on BBC Radio 5 live extra.
