Nicole Gibbs - wearing bright yellow sweat bands with a nautical dress and leggings - gets us back under way.

We go back and forth on deuce-advantage. Who's going to take the game?

It's Heather Watson! She breaks back instantly to level. Perfect start (again) for the Briton.

Let's pick up where we left off yesterday...

British number two Heather Watson came back with a bang after the first rain break to level at one set all with Nicole Gibbs in their first-round tie.

But the American finished in the ascendancy after breaking Watson's serve to lead 2-1 in the third before play was suspended.

They are now out for the warm-up and look at that - the sun's out!

    French Open 2016

As you've probably gathered by now, we're a bit off-schedule after Sunday's rainfall.

The lowdown on the British players is as follows:

Heather Watson is due on court three very soon. She's level on one set all with American Nicole Gibbs.

Kyle Edmund is next up on court six against qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili, while Naomi Broady is due to play Coco Vandeweghe on court four.

British number one Andy Murray is scheduled to face 37-year-old Czech Radek Stepanek in the fourth game on Philippe-Chatrier Court, and that could well start today now the rain has subsided.

We'll bring you updates on all these games.

    French Open 2016

Anyway, less about my questionable music taste. Let's talk tennis.

We only got around four hours of play on day one (Sunday), and it started about two and a half hours late today.

But it looks like the rain has cleared. So fingers crossed we get a decent stint this afternoon.

    French Open 2016

The horrible wet weather in Paris earlier today means we are waaaaaayyyy behind schedule in the French Open first round.

So instead of twiddling my tennis-typing thumbs, as I waited for the Brits to arrive on court, I've been carefully deciding what my favourite song about rain is.

After five hours of careful deliberation I've made my choice.....
