Muguruza beats Williams to win French Open
Runner-up Serena Williams, speaking in French, addresses the crowd on Philippe-Chatrier Court:
"I would like to congratulate Garbine, she played very well today. I'd like to thank my camp too - we didn't win, but I hope we will try again next year.
"It's very important for me to thank the crowd also. You will remain in my heart. Thank you."

Garbine Muguruza wins French Open
The trophies are about to be presented to the two players.
Billy-Jean King - a former world number one herself - hands over the runners up plate to Serena Williams, who receives it with grace and poise, and even a little smile. It must be hard to muster that.
Garbine Muguruza stands up, waltzes forward with pride and is given the beautiful silver Coupe Suzanne Lenglen trophy.
As the national anthem of Spain belts out, tears fill the eyes of the 22-year-old. What a moment.

"The top players are sensing now that Serena Williams is not quite as dominant as she was. Angelique Kerber didn't seem remotely fazed against her in the Australian Open, and Muguruza too had the courage of her convictions - she believed she could win."
Garbine Muguruza wins French Open
Here she is - the champion, Garbine Muguruza. She looks remarkably calm. I'd be blubbing my eyes out.
Speaking on court, she says: "I'm so, so excited - to play in a Grand Slam against one of the best players, it's the perfect final. I'm so happy. I had to be very ready and concentrated on all the points and just to fight as much as I can. All the matches I've played against her helped me. It's our favourite tournament in Spain and I want to thank all my Spanish supporters."
Muguruza is only the second Spanish woman to win the tournament, the other bring Arantxa Sanchez Vicario.

So the wait to equal Steffi Graf's Grand Slam singles record continues for Serena Williams.
She hangs on 21 titles for another few weeks at least.

The 22-year-old Spaniard can barely believe it as she lobs her final ball over Serena Williams and it just about touches in.
She looks stunned. Stunned. As would you if you'd just beaten the world number one.
A star is born!

Here she goes then. What a moment for this young woman.
Muguruza takes the first point after Williams screws up a forehand.
The fourth seed wait patiently for Williams' return to drop just wide. 30-0.
And the umpire is out of his chair to call Williams' next return long. Three championship points to Muguruza.

Serena Williams looks crestfallen as a backhand goes into the net and the score moves to 15-15.
The American lofts a backhand from the baseline but it goes long at the other end. 15-30.
