    V.Williams 7-5 4-6 Kasatkina

    Lindsay Davenport
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Venus lost timing and wasn't able to structure proper grass court points.

Kasatkina has got much more consistent. She is making balls and constructing points.

They have a bit of a problem in the Serena camp because both Venus and Serena are going to be in action.

Alexander Zverev seals the first set.

The crowd like the cut of the young man's jib.

    "C'mon Alex," they holler.

Dustin Brown was just trying to argue with a machine's call there. You can't argue with technology. Great drama.

Court Two is becoming rowdier than the bar strip in your local town centre on a Saturday night. And that includes Kyrgios.

The hulking Aussie whinges at the umpire for ruling he doesn't reach a Brown return, continuing to chirp on at the changeover.

"You're acting like a baby!" shouts one female 'fan'. Kyrgios gives her the death stare. Then tells her he can "say what he wants to". Ouch.

Two off, two on on Centre Court.

Next up it's defending champion Serena Williams against fellow American and world number 65 Christina McHale in their second round match.

Stan is great off both sides but he seemed anxious after a good start. He had the chance to get into Del Potro's head, who was uncertain about his fitness etc. I was surprised that Stan blinked in the end and couldn't manage to extend some of the points. The best part for me is how much Del Potro is enjoying and embracing playing on Centre Court.

When things go off for Venus they go way off. She has lost her rhythm on her groundstrokes.

These tennis balls are being pounded to an inch of their lives. Both Kyrgios and Brown are knocking seven bells out of them. Deft net volley or drop shot aside. Kyrgios has spanked down 13 aces already, with Brown not far behind on nine.

I think Del Potro will become more dangerous the more confidence he gains. He's got a lot to offer this sport. He's one of the most liked guys in the locker room. He's had a couple of surgeries, then his left wrist went on him and he had another couple of surgeries and we wondered whether we'd see him again so it's just amazing.

It is like my second or third career now after all the injuries. I was sad for the last two years and now I am enjoying playing tennis again. I feel alive."

    Del Potro 3-6 6-3 7-6 6-3 Wawrinka

What a win for Juan Martin del Potro!

The Argentine gets a standing ovation as he beats fourth seed and former French Open champ Stan Wawrinka in four sets. It comes after years and years of career-threatening injuries.

DelPo pumps his fist in the air to salute the crowd as he comes off.

Think he enjoyed that one. He's into the third round.

Wawrinka has got caught in a cat and mouse game. Somehow Del Potro has got himself into a position where he can see the finishing line now. Stan should be more patient and try and engage Del Potro in longer rallies because you suspect he's in better shape than his opponent at the moment.

Even those locked out of Kyrgios v Brown aren't letting not being in Court Two put them off.

A few tired neck muscles as they watch one end of the conversation from the gangways.
