Great statement from Murray on the first point, looking forward, with a fine return. Exactly what Raonic was after in the end though. Raonic responded. He'll have to make sure he mixes up his serve though as the match goes on.

A game to whet the appetite further rather than sate it.

Andy Murray takes an extra 30 seconds on his seat before the start of play, keeping Milos Raonic waiting and stalking on the baseline.

    Gamesmanship? Surely not. Well, maybe.

Murray has got game on the court as well as psychologically and takes the first point with a lovely deliberate forehand into the far corner.

Milos Raonic's blockbuster serve makes the first of several dents to bring up 30-15.

The venomous forehand of Raonic versus the defensive scurrying of Murray - the pattern has been set.

Raonic pats away a volley as the netcord pops the ball up invitingly for him to move 40-15 up. He closes out.

There are a lot of emotions when you reach your first Grand Slam final, but Milos Raonic has impressed me with his fighting spirit throughout this competition.

He's done everything he can to prepare but nothing takes the place of doing it yourself. He has to make sure he doesn't get caught up with where he is, who he's playing, what he's playing for etc.

I am backing Andy Murray but I am reluctant to do so because Milos Raonic can beat him.

The way Raonic serves and volleys on grass means he will be a danger. He will be nervous, there is no way around that, but you try to keep to your usual routines.

Wimbledon finals are all about managing your nerves.

Murray knows it's his to win, he isn't facing Novak Djokovic but in its own way that brings a different set of pressures.

The Royal Box is filling up fast. Actors Hugh Grant and Bradley Cooper are shooting the breeze as we await the tee-off.

Less free and easy in the players' box. Andy Murray's wife Kim has her game face on. This is business not pleasure for the respective families.

    Here we go..

Milos' problem sometimes is he doesn't use the emotion of the crowd to his advantage. But against Federer we him do that, we saw something different from him that we hadn't seen before.

Being aggressive in your play is just the first step. You have to back that up with the right tennis as well.

Raonic probably has the best serve in the game right now, but one of Andy's great skills is getting the ball back in play.

Andy’s movement and agility from the back of the court is superb. I backed Andy to win the tournament before the tournament and I won't change my tune.

Right, any nerves in the Milos Raonic warm-up?

The Canadian is making his Grand Slam final debut, tasting the thin air on tennis' highest peaks for the first time.

So far, so solid as the players go through groundstrokes and volleys.

I have so much respect for Murray. He had to deal with so much expectation to win that first Wimbledon, and then he got to the stage where he was really bummed out over whether or not he'd be able to get over a certain guy called Djokovic.

Honestly, I didn't even know if he'd want to play Queen's after what happened at the French Open.

But then there was all this talk about Lendl. Ivan shows up and it was as if he never left. I saw him at Queen's and with him there Andy immediately seemed to elevate his game.

Raonic’s confidence is high on grass, but Murray has been playing better than anyone. When Novak lost a lot of eyes lit up.

Milos has waited for this opportunity for a long time. He is one of the few in the world that has admitted ‘I want to be the best in the world, I want to win majors’.

Well, guess what? That puts more pressure on you.

I think what we’ve seen from Milos that we haven’t seen in the past is how badly he wanted it, how deep he was willing to go against Federer.

    Here they come.

Milos Raonic leads the way as he and Andy Murray make their way through the All England rabbit warren.

They pause on the threshold. A puff of the cheeks from Raonic as they emerge blinking into the Centre Court sunlight.

What a noise to greet them. Raucous, confident cheers from the stands and Andy Murray raises a hand in acknowledgement, knowing that most of them are for him.

Raonic's first job will be to dampen some of that home-crowd enthusiasm.

    John McEnroe

I'm excited. In all the Wimbledons I've covered this is the first time I've been involved with trying to help get someone over the line, with Milos Raonic. I've not slept well.

Milos is an extremely good young man trying to bridge that gap to a Murray or a Djokovic. Now he has to find that sixth gear. But another important thing for him, and it's difficult to do, is somehow be able to embrace the occasion and enjoy being out there. Fans respect you when they see your passion.

    Murray v Raonic (14:00 BST)

Just 21 days ago Andy Murray conquered the mountainous Milos Raonic serve to reel in his fifth Queens' title.

Just three short weeks and some long five-setters later, they are reunited on Centre Court for - with respect to the Aegon Championship - a far more glittering prize.

The line judges are out, Kate and William have swished along a corridor and into the Royal Box, the photographers are poised over their shutter fingers.

It is just the players we are waiting for.
