Paul Steveley: Think back to what the 80s/90s/00s were like for British tennis - now here is Murray in his 3rd Wimbledon final. Amazing.

James: How many sets today? Will Murray be able to beat Raonic in less than 5 considering the strength of the Raonic serve

Philip McAllister: 2am in New Zealand. Three sets please Andy.

Raonic can't practise against anyone who can return as many balls as Murray is. You'd have to get Djokovic out here. There are shots coming back he just is not used to playing.

Milos Raonic had cod liver oil on his pancakes this morning.

The Canadian's service action is slick and smooth, generating string-stretching power and making the game a write-off for Andy Murray.

    A hold to love.

One of the weak points of Murray's game we thought Raonic might target was the second serve. But after 50 minutes in that was only the tenth he's had a look at. Murray's first-serve percentage at 70.

Conditioned glossy manes flutter among the Centre Court crowd as the wind swirls around the old place.

Andy Murray has to halt his serve action halfway through and readjust his cap.

He grew up on the courts of Dunblane though. Mother Nature will have to do better than that if it wants to give Milos Raonic a leg-up.

Milos Raonic sees off break point - luring Andy Murray into the net -  before a delicious crouching volley deep and true and a lassoo forehand down the line close out the game.

    That was a big hold.

All it takes is a couple of unforced errors, some brilliance from Murray and suddenly the break is there.

Keeping a lid on a resurgent Roger Federer and a fevered Centre Court - as Milos Raonic did in the semi-final - is perfect preparation for this situation.

But Murray is arguably, probably, pretty certainly, a more fearsome player than Fed now.

The Canadian is taken to deuce and is creaking.

Adam Stubbings: Almost perfect set from Murray. Taken to deuce once, only missed 7 serves. Raonic only managed 1 ace past him. Superb

Rosh:  One set down then. But watch this space - on past form this is where #Raonic, external settles in and #Murray, external goes AWOL.

Abdullah Mahmood:  Great first set from Murray. Reading Raonic's first serve like a book so far and dominating proceedings.

I think Milos is nervous - his legs aren't moving as well as you'd expect. I think he'll come out and play better in the second set now the opener is out of the way.

Andy Murray tugs a backhand wide on the first point to set nerve a'trembling.

But this version of Andy Murray is not the fish out water from the 2012 final.

This a battle-hardened senior pro, pickled in the experience of 10 previous Grand Slam finals, and he rattles off the next four points in nerveless all-court style.

Pinged groundstrokes out wide, dead-eyed volleyed winner off dampened strings.

First set bagged in 40 minutes. Two to go.

That Raonic only hit his first ace in that game is a real reflection of how well Murray's playing.

After every change of ends he's been looking in his bag going over his notes, going over the game plan he and his coaching team have worked on over the last two days. So far, it's going to plan.

Never mind the power, feel the quality.

Andy Murray shows off his full repertoire as he tickles in a drop-shot and then gets cat-like in an exchange of patter-cake volleys to move 15-30.

Centre Court senses an early exit route to a Murray first set.

Milos Raonic digs his first serve out the back of the locker, piercing Murray's defences to hit his first ace of the match so far to move to 40-30.

Murray attempts to bring Raonic into close combat with a drop-shot. But that is down the gurgler, failing to clear the net.

Murray to serve for the opener next.

Andy knows Milos wants to come up to the net so he's being aggressive and keeping him back. He has to keep this aggression up because if he goes too safe, he'll be in trouble.

Charge of the heavy brigade. At the business end of the set and with only a little time to recover the break, Milos Raonic comes pressing hard into the net.

He cuts down the angles and punches away his volleys for the first point.

Murray keeps the mountie rocked back on his heels on the next three points with a combination of big serves and raking groundstrokes out wide. 40-15.

A couple of rogue groundies allow Raonic back in, but Murray shuts the door with a big serve down the middle.
