Good shout Daniel, at this time of night, we don't need a five-hour five setter.

Mike Dickson
Daily Mail tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraKyle Edmund played in the Davis Cup final but he's not had too much big-court exposure. He has not won a match at Wimbledon in four attempts and perhaps that's why his profile in the UK is not that high.

What's this? A fist clench from Kyle Edmund as John Isner floats a forehand wide, that's 0-40 on the American's serve.
A first serve... wide. Second serve is in but his next shot finds the middle of the net and Edmund skips and pumps the fist in one happy movement. We have an early break.

Kyle Edmund looks comfortable out there in front of this crowd - now decent in size.
An ace no less gets him breathing space in game four and though John Isner rips a return down the line to trail 40-15, Edmund starts whipping forehands over the net in a rally to pressure his man into an error. Cracking forehand from Edmund that, took Isner to the corner.

I'm not sure how I feel about John Isner wearing an almost identical outfit to that of two days ago.
Is he heart-warmingly old school? Or just a little drab?

This is where this big serve gets tough to handle.
Kyle Edmund gets his body over a backhand to go across court and it's a corker of a shot, Isner reaches but can't get it back. That's 30-30. Edmund is threatening but like a punch you don't see coming, the morale gets dented so easily by these hammer serves.
Ace followed by a serve Edmund can barely get to the net. Game Isner, bish, bash, bosh.

Mike Dickson
Daily Mail tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraThis match might not delight the purists. Isner's serve is quite something and it's almost impossible to return it.
But in fairness he can play from the back of the court and also play off the ground. He's made a good career for himself without ever quite breaching the elite.

The blue court is virtually all in shade in New York as a healthy number of fans look on through sunglasses.
Solid serving from Kyle Edmund, he will have to keep this going all day. John Isner gets a little tangled up in his stance and fires a return long to trail 40-0.
A double fault from the Briton is not what we need to be seeing and Isner clings on, he looks quite smooth in a rally but a superb Edmund forehand seals the game. It clipped the line, stunner of a shot. Confidence builder.

John Isner has 878 aces this year, the most on Tour. The last of those arrives to make it 30-15. Kyle Edmund is getting to grips with this pace and a forehand is well wide, that's game.

Kyle Edmund and John Isner have met just once before, a straight-sets win for the American at the French Open this year.

It's not all platitudes here as we ride this brilliant British wave in New York.
Though Kyle Edmund's straight-sets win over Ernesto Escobedo in round two was admirable, there was plenty on show which will have to be tightened up with John Isner in town.
Edmund will not get too many break points against the big server so he will have to be clinical when he does. In round two he won just four of 16 break points.

22:45 BST 2 September 2016Our man Joel has tweeted in and he's bang on.
Novak Djokovic won through a short while ago as Mikhail Youzhny was forced to withdraw due to injury. That's the second time Novak has had an opponent call it quits during a match at the tournament and he's therefore played just four sets to reach round four.

Mike Dickson
Daily Mail tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraI don't think Kyle Edmund's return of serve is his strongest point, which doesn't make it a great match-up in that respect, but he does have a good serve of his own.
There will be some fairly short points and quite a lot will come down to the tie-breaks.

Be warned Kyle Edmund, the John Isner serves will be flying past your face in a yellow blur.
In round two, the 6ft 8in American fired a top speed of 142mph and dealt out 38 aces against Steve Darcis, who only managed four.
The fastest serve of the tournament so far belongs to Milos Raonic at 143mph.

22:41 BST 2 September 2016Kyle Edmund grew up on the territory that just breeds champions - Yorkshire.
He may not be at Nicola Adams or Brownlee level just yet but at 21, there's room to grow.
Already he is showing signs. The third round represents a new watermark in Grand Slam competition, bettering his second-round appearances at the French Open in 2015 and earlier this year.
Can he keep it going? Big ask.

Kyle Edmund struts on to court at Louis Armstrong Stadium, racquet bag on his left shoulder, a plastic bag full of bottles of water on his right. The bright yellow t-shirt has bee replaces by black but the shorts are yellow and glowing. He best hope there aren't any moths around.
John Isner limbers up. He has a frame like a basketball player. Wide-shoulders, never-ending legs.
