Djoko comes to the net again and this time puts away a smash before getting his bearings wrong on a double-handed backhand from the back. 15-15.

Having deja vu now. It's 30-15 then 30-30 after Djoko's stroke is too long.

Murray then loses another challenge thinking his return was in - it was out - he's lost a few of those this week. 40-30.

Nevertheless, it's deuce again after another Djoko error and now break point.

What will you do Muzza? What will you do?

"I tell you what Saj, I'll start playing backhand slice. That annoys loads of opponents."

He does just that and Djoko finds the net.

Broken. Murray will now serve for the set.

Joel Newnham: I hope 2017's slam finals are as exciting as this. If so, going to be a great year for tennis.

Colin Austin: Already a great final, so tense!!

David Smith: This is already so tense. But the longer the games are the more it favours Novak.

It's finally advantage Djoko. Can he hold?

Well, not yet. A crosscourt return from Murray is left by Djoko who might have thought it was out. It wasn't. Deuce.

He'll take the game though. Here comes the forehand smash...yup...just smash the ball out of sight...ahhh.. preferably inside the court Noves. How on earth did he mess that up?!!

Djokovic finally holds after a 10-minute game. Murray had two break points in that game.

Nick Hall: Andy looks like he's working much harder on his own serve. Novak cruising. Extra hours on court sure to count against Andy too.

Dodds: Good start from Andy Murray but all these 2nd serves will be adding to his tiredness. Surely must be feeling it.

Euan Gregor: You feel Andy has to win this in straight sets. May have to be on breakers given the dominant serving.

After a quick swig and towelling down they are back on the blue.

Murray levels at 15-15 with a sweeping deep forehand winner.

Djoko bites back before making an error. Blimey! The crowd are loud tonight. They sniff a Murray break, I guess. It's 30-30.

Now it's 30-40 - they just grew that little bit louder as Djokovic's forehand kisses the net.

Murray breaks.... down in the rally as he fires a forehand into the net. Very un-Murray.

But it's a second break point after The Djok cannot deal with a heavy sliced return.

Saved again. It's deuce once more...

Murray has done very well. He was a bit tight in his opening service games. Djokovic has looked very efficient on the other side of the net. It will be interesting to see who can create the first opportunity and stamp their authority on this first set?

    Murray 3-2 Djokovic*

It appears Djokovic isn't wanting to give Murray the chance to dictate from the baseline - that's now a couple of times he's moved in and won a point. 15-15.

But Murray is serving well - he takes the next point then his second serve - which he's been working on - kicks up into Djoko's body. The Serb returns into the net. 40-15.

Murray, who himself had problems getting the ball over the net against Raonic on Saturday, also finds the net. 40-30.

But the world number one seals his service game with a brilliant wide first serve which has Djoko stretching.

The forehand shot from the middle of the court is an opportunity for Murray to be aggressive. The longer the rally goes on the more it has got to favour Djokovic.

Djoko holds to love by the way. Murray was barely in any of those points. Ominous.

After a not-quite-perfect opening game, Murray is now serving beautifully.

He races to 40-0 before the world number two puts on a heavy dose of slice on his backhand which sees Murray scamper forward - however, his pick-up is put away by The Djok.

Djokovic then has a slice of luck when, after a thrilling rally, his return clips the net and somehow falls inside the tram line. 40-30.

That fails to fluster Murray who seals the game when Djoko puts too much on his return.

I think this would be a magnificent effort - possibly the best of the year - for Murray to come through and win this game considering everything that has happened.
