Can we start looking forward to the third round?

Heather, keep your eyes on the job, but with the break bagged in the second set, let's have a peek.

Next up for Watson is either 14th seed Elena Vesnina or famous (ish) Luxembourger Mandy Minella.

Heather Watson locks down the first set. Jennifer Brady took her to deuce in that final game, but it was death rattle rather than a comeback.

Andy Murray has arrived on the Melbourne Park practice courts today.

And the good news is that there is no apparent lasting damage to the right ankle joint that took a twist in his win over Andrey Rublev yesterday.

"Starting out with a few tentative stamps of his right foot to test the vulnerable joint, he was soon in full flow, punching the ball back over the net to his training partner and moving freely around the court," report Reuters., external

Twenty minutes on the clock and Heather Watson is just a game away from the opener.

A brief moment for Watson's get-up today by the way.

Some strong neon. It is like the designer lost control of the highlighters.

A topsy-turvy start to this match with Jennifer Brady nicking a service game against the head before Heather Watson does the same.

The players take a sit-down and a sip of isotonic without either having held serve yet.

Over on the main stage, Caroline Wozniacki has shaken down Donna Vekic 6-1 in the first set.

The winner of that one is Johanna Konta's third-round opponent.

Elsewhere Nick Kyrgios - who has been copping heat after his five-set defeat by Andreas Seppi yesterday - has withdrawn from the doubles where he was due to play alongside Britain's Dan Evans.

Right, down to business Court 13 style.

Watson has 35 ranking places on her opponent.

  14. Murray enjoys Evans successpublished at 02:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2017

While we wait let's check in with Andy Murray after his second-round stroll past Andrey Rublev,

In his BBC Sport column, he has been bigging up Davis Cup team-mate Dan Evans for his scalping of Marin Cilic.

"Away from the court, he's a pretty relaxed guy. He doesn't take himself too seriously and he likes to have a good time, but when he's playing, he's focused. He's a very talented player," said Murray.

Game, set and match Carreno Bustapublished at 02:05 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2017

    Edmund 2-6 4-6 2-6 Carreno Busta

A best ever run at the Australian Open ending in defeat to a man of higher seeding and more experience.

Nothing to be ashamed of on the face of Kyle Edmund's day.

But he will have wanted to get deeper into that match. His forehand power failed to make that encounter as messy as it could have been for Carreno Busta,

Edmund, dangerously pasty under the pulsing Melbourne sun, might be better of back behind the scenes.

    *Edmund 2-6 4-6 2-4 Carreno Busta

Kyle Edmund tugs a backhand wide and ruefully shakes his head.

He had a break-back point in that game, but could not capitalise. Pablo Carreno Busta has worn his down with depth and consistency.

And this match is only going one way.

Pablo Carreno Busta breaks to take control of the third set and leave Kyle Edmund dangling over the Melbourne Park waste disposal.

Edmund's game has been patchy today.

  20. Game and second setpublished at 01:36 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2017

    Edmund 2-6 4-6 Carreno Busta

Big problems for Kyle Edmund now.

The Briton has a break point against Carreno Busta but the Spaniard produces a superb serve down the middle to get back to deuce. Carreno Busta then fires another ace and goes on to take the second set.

So much to do for the British number two. Does he have the answers?
