What we do know is Murray will play either Japan's eighth seed Kei Nishikori or Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco in the quarter-finals.
That is down to a best-of-three over on Lenglen. Verdasco bagelled his opponent in the first set, but Nishikori has just levelled up by winning 6-4 in the second.
Rafa might have hogged most of the headlines so far at Roland Garros, but the rest are warming up nicely.
Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem haven't lost a set yet either, while Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic are also grinding through the gears.

Another landmark has been racked up by Andy Murray following that victory: his 650th Tour-level match win. The Scot is only the 15th man to reach this milestone.

Murray will be delighted to get through that one in straight sets, his defensive skills were as impressive as ever as he scrambled back some huge strikes from Khachanov, but the serve will please him just as much. It was partly down to the Russian's returning, but it can't have been often that Murray has won 75% of the points in his second serve. Just the kind of form to take into the last eight.

That's a great performance from Andy. He was really composed in the third set, and he's kind of the underdog, which is how he likes it.
He's felt pressure being the world number one and having a target on his back but people are talking of the resurgence of Djokovic and the incredible form of Nadal and that means he's going through a bit under the radar.

A warm hug between the pair at the net, Khachanov smiling as a very impressive debut Roland Garros comes to an end.
The 21-year-old Russian dispatched Tomas Berdych and John Isner, but Murray proved to be a step too far.
For the Brit it is a quarter-final appearance for a fourth successive year in Paris.

First serve are the key for Murray here. Khachanov has had a bit of success on Murray's second serve in this set - well, relatively - and does so again in the opening point.
Muzza hits back with an ace, then scampers across the baseline to whack an inside-out forehand down the line for 30-15.
Another second serve for the Scot... Khachanov can't take advantage, batting a backhand long.

And it is on again! Two break points for Muzza.
The pair become embroiled in a baseline rally, forehand to forehand, Khachanov losing his bottle first when he clunks a forehand into the net.

Murray laughs like he is sat at a Jimmy Carr gig when Khachanov puts away a forehand volley for 15-15. Don't think it was that funny...
Murray isn't laughing when he takes a volley in the chest after a net exchange, the Russian apologising rather quickly. No damage done.
Not physically at least, but mentally... Murray's head goes in the next point, setting up a break point.
The Russian has only had one previous break point - and he took it. His 100% record continues when Murray can't get a backhand back.

Murray's defence is something else. I mean, how? The powerful Khachanov throws some missiles at the Brit, who is stood about a foot and a half behind the baseline, at 30-0. Muzza gets his bat to everything, until eventually he can't clear the net.
A forehand winner keeps Khachanov interested, but he looks up to the scoreboard as he returns to the receiver's end. It's not pretty.

After a mass exodus following the end of the second set - including Ivan Lendl slipping out briefly - the refreshed masses are returning for the business end of this set, and possibly the match.
Getting everyone to sit down for the resumption of play can be something of a test for the umpires here, although in New York it's hardly worth trying as everyone is on the move and chatting constantly. All part of the rich variety that makes up the Grand Slams.

Andy Murray is turning into Bill Murray. It is Groundhog Day as the Brit goes 40-0 ahead.
Khachanov escapes the loop with a forehand winner, but Murray reasserts his authority in the next point.

Aaah! As smooth as silk from Murray.
At 30-30, a drop-shot is reached by Khachanov, but Murray seeks further punishment by knocking a lob over his head. The Russian scurries back to retrieve it, only to see Murray waiting at the net to pat down a winner.
Chatrier claps its appreciation.
That gives the Scot hope of another break...not this time. A backhand wide and a Khachanov ace keeps him at bay.

Khachanov has got feel as well as power. Realistically with him the biggest hurdle will be whether he can stay disciplined and mentally focused throughout a match and not give away cheap points.
If he can, he has a bright future ahead of him.
