    More news to bring you.

Today's men's quarter-finals have been postponed until Wednesday due to the rain delay.

That means there will be no Novak Djokovic v Dominic Thiem or Rafael Nadal v Pablo Carreno Busta this evening.

On the bright side it means all four men's quarter-finals will be played tomorrow in a bumper day including Nadal, Djokovic, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka.

    Every cloud...

    More rain and another delay.

I'm sure you get the picture by now...

The latest is that there will be no play before 17:30 BST.

Let's all hope there is no more rain between now and then and we can watch some tennis.

  3. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 6 June 2017

    Sadly we've got more delays.

As you will see in the tweet below there will now be no play before 18:00 local time or 17:00 BST.

That means it may be a squeeze to fit in today's matches, even if the players get back on court today.

  4. Rain, rain go awaypublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 6 June 2017

    More bad news.

We've had heavy rain, thunder and lightning plus a bit of sunshine all mixed together over the last half hour but no sign of tennis players.

The latest is that play will not resume until 16:30 BST at the earliest.

Sorry folks, you're going to have to wait a little longer. We've just been informed that play won't resume until 15:45 BST.

That's enough time for you to run to the corner shop and top up the biscuit supplies.

  6. Stan the manpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 6 June 2017

While Rafa Nadal continues to hog the headlines, Stan Wawrinka is also motoring through the men's draw.

The 2015 champion, like Nadal and Dominic Thiem, is yet to drop a set on his way to the quarter-finals.

And, judging by his emoji-heavy Tweet, the Swiss third seed was pretty happy to beat old pal Gael Monfils in straight sets yesterday...

Hopefully those packed under Chatrier's shelter will be re-emerging in the not-too distant future.

We were told there would not be any play before 15:00 BST, but with brightening skies we're hoping the covers might be coming off in the next 10 minutes or so.

    Cross those fingers.

Roland Garros is a glorious place to be when the sun is shining, but a bit cramped when shelter is required. A huge renovation programme is promised in the coming years, but for now your best bet of escaping the rain is squeezing into the tunnel under Chatrier. "Pardon. Excusez-moi..." etc.

A quick look at the stats of the game on Philippe Chatrier shows just how difficult the conditions have been.

Kiki Mladenovic has won just 53% of points on her first serve compared to 70% in her last match as the wind has caused havoc.

The French player and Timea Bacsinszky have hit 42 unforced errors between them in just over a set, not your usual number for a Grand Slam quarter-final.

  10. Murray pays tribute to attack victimspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 6 June 2017

Andy Murray showed a touch of class after his fourth-round win against Russian Karen Khachanov yesterday, using his on-court interview to reflect on the "terrible" terror attacks in Manchester and London.

The world number one thanked the French Open crowd for "coming out to support the tennis".

We're hearing there will be no play before 15:00 BST. Showers are forecast throughout the afternoon so hopefully we'll get today's four quarter-finals completed.

Remember we have Rafael Nadal v Pablo Carreno Busta and Dominic Thiem v Novak Djokovic to come.

Speaking of rainy days at Wimbledon...

I wonder if the All England Club has arranged a cake for their five-time champion?

Paris looks very similar to a rainy Manchester right now. Someone give Sir Cliff a call and we'll all have a sing-a-long.

Both of these women's quarter-finals are tantalisingly poised in the second sets with Jelena Ostapenko about to serve to level things up and Kristina Mladenovic facing break point on her serve against Timea Bacsinszky.

They'll be itching to get back out I'm sure.

Mladenovic saves two of the break points but here comes the rain! What a time for it with the French number one serving at break point down.

The players are off, crowd rushing for shelter, covers on. This looks a heavy shower.

    *Ostapenko 4-6 5-2 Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki's serve has gone to pot. Maybe she needs that wild wind back.

Jelena Ostapenko continues with her aggressive approach, and it yields another break.

An insurance policy for the unseeded Latvian teenager.

But it looks like a momentum-ruining stoppage is on the way...

    *Mladenovic 4-6 1-1 Bacsinszky

Bacsinszky is deserving of her lead. It felt as though she was making all of the running in the first set, while her backhand in particular has been causing problems to Mladenovic.

Here is a chance to really turn the screw. 0-40. Three break points...

A flurry activity on the far side of Chatrier as what looked to be a poorly gentleman was helped out of the stadium, some fast moving and collective action there from his fellow spectators.

Meanwhile, the skies darken overhead once again. We have been promised showers this afternoon....

What has happened out there? Two easy service holds. That's unheard of in this match, almost like a routine game of tennis.

It is looking dark again but maybe the conditions are getting a little easier.

    Mladenovic 4-6 1-0 Bacsinszky*

With breaks a plenty in that first set it felt in some ways a disadvantage for Mladenovic to be serving first. She'll have to do the same here.

The wind seems to have dropped a little but still fairly blustery, just not the extreme levels of the first set.

Mladenovic gets her nose ahead in the second with a comfortable hold.

    *Ostapenko 4-6 3-2 Wozniacki

This is getting silly now. Service games are proving more difficult to keep hold of than a freshly-caught eel. With hands covered in vegetable oil.

A beautiful backhand winner tees up two break points for Ostapenko and, after they become embroiled in another baseline scrap, Wozniacki blinks first with a backhand into the net.
