Jo Konta needed three hours and 10 minutes to see off Donna Vekic the other day. She might have this one wrapped up in one hour and 10 if she gets a shift on.

    Here's your eight-minute warning Jo...

Did you know that Konta would love to be on stage with Coldplay? Or that she is partial to top quality gelato?

There's probably a few facts you don't know about Konta, favourite to win Wimbledon, and you can read about them here.

  4. Nadal closes in on second setpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Nadal 6-1 5-3 Khachanov

Karen Khachanov is finally starting to make inroads into the Rafael Nadal serve as he gets the Spaniard to deuce.

But he wastes an opportunity as Nadal holds to move a game away from the second set.

Over on Murray Mound, ripples of applause, rather than sustained cheers, have greeted Johanna Konta's latest breaks at the start of the second set - I think many of these fans are a bit frazzled after spending more than five hours sitting in the sun, and those glasses of Pimm's might be taking their toll too.

    Konta 6-4 4-0 Sakkari

Anyone feeling sorry for JJ? No, didn't think so.

Get back to Salford and do some proper work.

Maria Sakkari miscues one into the crowd and it's taken cleanly by a fan. Well caught! If you were David Beckham that would go viral. But you're not.

The first slip of the game as Sakkari slides a touch. She's OK though, and Konta goes 4-0 up with ease.

    Konta 6-4 3-0 Sakkari

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Fans (and media types...) are only allowed into a court at the players' changeover.

If you don't get to your entrance before the umpire calls time then that means a wait. A three-game wait at the start of a set.

So if you missed your chance at Court One before the second set started then you'd be cursing that 10-minute opening game...

At least you'd have time to scoff down a sandwich while you wait.

  8. Konta cruisingpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Konta 6-4 3-0 Sakkari

Much, much better now from Jo Konta, really finding her range as she clubs a peach of a shot from the back of the court into the corner.

Moving Sakkari around with ease, a chance for a double break? Great hit down the line! That brings up a break chance, and she gets it as Sakkari can only volley tamely into the net.

    Konta 6-4, 2-0 Sakkari

    Tracy Austin
    Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion

Konta is so absolutely focused between each point.

The "process" she always talks about, comes from her mental coach, the late Juan Coto.

She started thinking more positive about her game rather than thinking, "what happens if I lose this point".

  10. Khachanov starting to settlepublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Nadal 6-1 4-3 Khachanov

The crowd sound a bit subdued, one man was fast asleep until his mate wakes him up.

One court, both players hold their serve, with Karen Khachanov finally looking like he has settled on Centre Court, albeit a set and a break down.

  11. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Konta 6-4 2-0 Sakkari

Shot! Maria Sakkari engineers an angle to lash a cross-court backhand winner into the lines. 0-15.

Konta then reads a miscued return to reach it and flick a winner over the net, this is better from the six seed. She holds.

  13. Konta breaks!published at 16:32 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Konta 6-4 1-0 Sakkari

A fourth deuce of the game. Sakkari fighting for this hold. Broken this early and it could be curtains.

Deuce six. Pull up a chair. That's much better from Konta though, consistently finding her range off both sides, driving Sakkari back and forcing an error which gives her a break!

  16. Khachanov keeps in touch with four straight acespublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    *Nadal 6-1 3-2 Khachanov

Nadal consolidates the break with a hold, Karen Khachanov is getting no joy on the Spaniard's serve.

The Russian then makes his life a whole lot easier by winning his service game to love, with four straight aces.

  17. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Konta 6-4, 0-0 Sakkari

    Tracy Austin
    Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion

Konta uses her legs so well. She gets so much power from getting down low and then uncoiling all the way through the body.

It's so important to do that on the grass.

  18. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Konta 6-4 0-0 Sakkari

Ten unforced errors for Jo Konta in that first set, her radar was not quite dialled in. For every ace (4) and winner (11) there's a shot clubbed long or wide.

If she is going to win Wimbledon she'll have to play better than this.

Sakkari plays a fine whipped forehand winner but Konta then does find her range, hitting six or seven superb drives off either wing to force deuce. When she can get it right, it's very right.

Like that! A fantastic passing backhand with Sakkari moving into the net. Break point chance - long. Deuce.

  19. Nadal breaks againpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    *Nadal 6-1 2-1 Khachanov

Karen Khachanov stumbles on the baseline as his left foot gives way.

    "You OK?" asks Nadal.

The Russian gets back to his feet with the dread that he has another three break points to defend.

A huge serve saves the first one, he finds the corner of the court with a wonderful forehand to save the next and then aces Nadal to get to deuce.

But all that hard work is wasted as Nadal breaks again.

There has been some erratic hitting from the Russian, who has hit 18 unforced errors already.
