    *Mannarino 0-1 Djokovic

If the first rally is anything to go by, we could be in for a brilliant battle.

The pair exchange continuous blows at the baseline and Djokovic loses the point as he clips the net and it falls on his side. He's 15-30 down.

The three-time champion recovers to 40-30 but then gets a backhand all wrong for deuce.

Frenchman Mannarino sends a backhand wide to give his opponent the advantage and Djoko holds.

Andy Murray was in far less of a hurry than Novak Djokovic when he arrived for his practice session, even posing for a couple of selfies on his way, but then he does have a day off today - Djoko doesn't of course.

Murray is not just going through the motions on his regular haunt, court 15, though - he has had intense drills on every groundstroke and volley, and is now hammering down some big old serves.

Novak Djokovic missed the start of his practice hit with Andre Agassi at Aorangi Park... no wonder he's in a rush to get there for a warm-up - he's due on Centre Court at 12:00 BST.

    Mannarino v Djokovic (12:00 BST)

Centre Court ticket holders get a Brucey Bonus today - in the shape of Adrian Mannarino v Novak Djokovic.

The pair were due to play on Court One yesterday, but the Nadal v Muller epic put paid to that.

Frenchman Mannarino and Djokovic have only met once before and it came in the second round here last year, when the Serb won in straight sets.

Three-time champion Djokovicis bidding to reach his ninth Wimbledon quarter-final and his 39th at a Grand Slam.

Meanwhile, left-hander and world number 51 is hoping to reach his first Grand Slam quarter-final.

The winner of this match will play 11th seed Tomas Berdych.

Jamie Murray, rather optimistically, is wearing sunnies. Not for long. He serves out the opening game, then shoots a worried glance to the darkening skies.

It's spitting! The players wait under towels, hoping the clouds will pass. The rain comes down harder as the umpire gets on the blower.

"Play suspended." Groans and popping of brollies are heard simultaneously.

    Well that lasted long.

They're off after only one game on court two as the rain has started to fall.

It's annoying, yes, but it did mean we got to enjoy footage of this gentleman battling with a kagool and that, my friends, is always funny.

Wherever you look at Wimbledon there's a Murray knocking about. This morning it is Jamie.

The elder Murray brother is playing in the mixed doubles. His partner? Someone called Martina Hingis.

She's quite a decent player apparently.

  19. The roof is closed!published at 11:11 British Summer Time 11 July 2017

Centre Court preparations are well under way for the earlier start time of 1200 BST and the roof is closed as rain is expected. But if the forecast improves, the roof could reopen for Novak Djokovic v Adrian Mannarino.

  20. Weather watchpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 11 July 2017

    Simon King
    BBC weather presenter and meteorologist

Wimbledon has had it pretty good so far this year with lots of warm, sunny weather. However, that is all going to change today with the roof getting a good workout.

It’s a much cloudier and cooler day with high risk of showers during the first half of the afternoon bringing brief interruptions. But then from late afternoon, heavier and more persistent rain is likely to set in and once it does, I suspect that’ll be the last of any play on all courts except Centre. Today’s top temperature will be around 20 degrees.

The forecast is looking better again for Wednesday so after a cloudy start to the day, there’ll be increasing sunshine throughout the afternoon and as a result feeling warmer than today with a high of 23°C.
