Where has this Donna Vekic been all game?

I'd say if she keeps this up she will take the title, Konta with all the work to do.

Vekic is dictating the points now and Konta is struggling at the back of the court.

Konta raging at the umpire about the line calls. She is disputing the state of the chalk on the lines.

At 30-30, she needs to focus.

Vekic takes it to deuce with a thumping forehand to the baseline that bounces off the court and slaps a line judge in the thigh.

Another huge hit to the corner and it's another break point for the Croatian.

She takes it with another return to the far corner to set up an easy passing shot to leave Konta flailing.

Vekic looks calm and assured now in the changeover, the early angst has gone, whereas Konta looks troubled.

Vekic's serve is working a treat now as she consolidates the break and sets up three set points.

Vekic takes the first point with her serve, but then inexplicably messes up a backhand return, despite the ball sitting up perfectly at the net.

Konta wins the next point as the tie-break goes on serve.

Poor start for Konta who misses with the drop shot, her play is becoming a bit one dimensional.

Vekic has two set points as she reaches for volley.

The first goes by the wayside as she blasts another return long.

The second sees her send a forehand into the net.

Back to deuce.

Konta lobs the Croatian, who manages to backtrack and get a racket on the return but it's very long.

Another missed return and we're into a tie-break.

Johanna Konta is the one to have a go at the umpire now, she claims Vekic's return is long, despite a puff of chalk.

"You're going on chalk", the Brit pleads and the crowd get involved but it falls on deaf ears.

Vekic's eighth double fault gets Konta back to 30-40 but the Brit misses with a drop shot and her opponent holds.

Konta, serving to stay in the second set, goes long with a backhand to make it 30-30.

Vekic senses her opportunity and gets a set point as Konta's forehand finds the net.

But shes blows her chance sending her return long.

Back on deuce and Konta gets Vekic on the run with a perfectly weighted drop shot which the youngster just manages to return and the Briton then volleys into an empty court.

She then holds as Vekic goes long again with a return.

It's taken nearly over an hour but Vekic has finally sorted her serve out and she gets her first hold to love in the match.

Another takes it to 40-15 with a forehand drop shot from the back of the court, Vekic can do nothing but smile.

The Croatian then fires a forehand long as Konta holds.

The Croatian looks ready to snap at any moment.

Vekic is on the verge of playing well, but is making too many mistakes. She is muttering to herself under her breath and I will be amazed if the racket makes the end of the match in one piece.

She takes Konta to deuce, big moment in the match as the Croatian tries to edge ahead once again.

But Konta is a top 10 player for a reason and gets out of trouble with a lovely drop shot and then dispatches a volley to take the game.

Both coaches come and have a quick chat.

Vekic barely looks at her coach as he speaks sternly to her.

I don't speak Croatian but he is not happy.

The youngster serves another double fault and hands Konta a break point.

The Croatian saves the break point but sends a return high and wide and slams her racket into the grass.

Another double fault and she gifts the game to Konta.

Vekic is furious with herself and her racket takes another hammering as it is tossed onto the ground.

Back on serve in the final.

Now then, we have a game on our hands as Vekic breaks.

Konta handed the game to the youngster with a string of mistakes, the number one seed not looking entirely at home out there.

Donna Vekic is growing into the final and even registers her first ace as she holds again.

Despite being a set up, Konta has still not settled herself, perhaps it's the pressure of a home crowd?
