The quality of the tennis is probably at the greatest it has been in the match from both players, but Rafa's energy levels look totally different from Del Potro's.

Rafa is in the crowd! He's running for everything, so much so he sprints way out wide and can't stop himself before ending up in a lady's lap.

Finally, finally, finally Del Potro holds.

Juan Martin del Potro is on his backside again. Another slip on the grass. That could have been nasty but he's on his feet. The crowd applaud as he drags himself back to his feet.

    Deuce again!

What a point! What a volley!

Centre Court is on its feet as Juan Martin del Potro dives full length at the net to reach the ball.

He needed all of his height there. Is it a bird, is it a plane? No it's Juan Martin del Potro.

    He's still at deuce though...

Rafael Nadal covers his face with his hands after slicing a backhand into the net. He knew that was an excellent chance for 0-30.

But now Juan Martin del Potro gifts him a point. A sitter of a volley into the net.

The Argentine responds well on the forehand.

30-30. Important moments but I've said that too many times already.

There was no dictating in that game from Del Potro. Rafael Nadal is the man in control.

Easy service games like that are like gold dust in a decider.

  9. 'Del Potro needs to dictate'published at 19:45 British Summer Time 11 July 2018

You can’t read too much into Del Porto’s body language, he is naturally more laid back than Nadal, but he has had the tougher longer route to this match.

For me it is about strategy, he needs to dictate more with his forehand and take more chances

And Del Potro holds emphatically. It's great to see Centre Court is still largely full here. Anyone who has left is missing a thriller.

Nadal wants to wrap up this set quickly.

He wants to see the second half.

Here's a break point which is also a set point.

Del Potro is down again. A shake of the head from the big man after a slip on the greener grass at the back of the court. He seems to be OK though. The crowd applaud him back to his feet. The break he needs doesn't come in this game.

John Isner has taken the second set - in a tie-break, yes, you guessed right a tie-break - and is level with Milos Raonic on Court One.

They're on serve in the third.

Something makes me think they're in the for the long haul...

The Del Potro box liked what they saw in that game, despite Nadal smashing a backhand winner that had Andy Murray applauding in the commentary box.

There's a skip in Del Po's step as he heads for his chair.
