I think Rafa is in trouble here. After Del Potro walloped that winner for 30-30, Nadal stood still on a spot on the opposite side of the baseline for about 30 seconds. Then he slowly looked down at that troublesome knee before limping off to get a towel.

Nadal is shuffling to his chair like an old man.

    *Nadal 6-7 (3-7) 1-4 Del Potro

There's a lot of concern for Nadal right now. He has dropped the first set and is trailing in the second.

Will he continue? His body is giving up on him.

Nadal limping between points now. Certainly wasn't doing that against Khachanov. Not affecting his movement during the points, mind. Especially when he scampered forward to meet that Delpo dropshot for 0-15.

Nadal is just staring up at his box. He doesn't know what to do. He has to think long term.

    *Nadal 6-7 (3-7) 1-4 Del Potro

The Spaniard refuses to give up. He stretches to reach a ball on his backhand and somehow gets it back into court. Del Potro smashes into the net on reply but sends a forehand into the space on the next point.

The Argentine doesn't hold back - sending another forehand fizzing down the line before Nadal sends his backhand into the net.

Del Potro rounds the game off with a double-handed cross-court winner.

Nadal is visibly limping on that right leg when he walks. He started jogging so people could see he was limping.

Nadal looks so concerned. His face is contorted in tension and his brow is furrowed.

But his forehand is long and it's a break for Del Potro.

This is sad. The Spaniard is actually limping!

    *Nadal 6-7 (3-7) 1-2 Del Potro

Nadal is in visible pain here. He trudges back to his 'beach towel' and looks concerned. Can he get through this or is the injury too bad?

Two break points are saved to give him a lifeline...

You can see how Nadal can't push off on his serve.

  13. Three break pointspublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 7 September 2018

    *Nadal 6-7 (3-7) 1-2 Del Potro

Del Potro passes Nadal with a backhand drop and the Spaniard's returning lob is too long. His forehand cross-court then flies long too and Nadal is quickly 0-30 down.

Nadal's whipping backhand is then swatted away down the line by Del Potro. Three break points.

The trainer is digging his hands into Nadal's thigh like he's kneading bread.

If that tendon is causing Nadal an issue it will definitely impede his serve.

Look at the wincing from Nadal as his thigh is massaged. He is in genuine discomfort.

  18. Postpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 7 September 2018

I think it's fair to say Del Potro is certainly causing Nadal problems but the Spaniard is clearly in pain. He is wincing each time the trainer rubs his thigh.

The magic spray is out too. You know it's bad when the spray comes out...

Nadal did this earlier in the tournament. I don't know if he is doing this to break the momentum a little bit. What is causing him more problem? Del Potro's serve and forehand or his knee?
