That's all from me today and almost all from tennis in 2018. What a way to end the year!
The Davis Cup continues in France next week but then we will have to wait until 14 January, 2019 when the Australian Open kicks off. I suspect both Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev will be hoping to challenge.

The crowd start to laugh and Zverev's mic is turned back on. He continues:
"I wasn't done yet but thanks for the champagne. I wasn't going to get drunk just yet!
"The crowd have been absolutely amazing all week. I appreciate you all coming out to support and show love for the sport.
"It makes it so much easier for us to play so thank you for that."
He then jokes: "Don't cut me off, I know my speech is getting long but one more minute..."
"I want to thank all the ball boys and girls. That's it I think. I have talked enough! Hopefully see you next year."

Champion Alexander Zverev speaking to BBC Two: "I really can't describe it. It is the biggest title I have ever won.
"Firstly I want to congratulate Novak and we may never have seen the tennis he has played in the last few months before. He barely lost a match but thankfully he did to me.
Zverev then puts the trophy back on the stand and jokes: "I am going to cramp in a second! I need to put this down"
He continued: "We [Djokovic and Zverev] had so many talks, not only about tennis but all different types of subjects - I won't mention what - but you are a sharing person and you have shared some titles with me. I appreciate you letting me win one today.
"Also huge congratulations to the whole Djokovic team. Finishing as world number one after having surgery this year, I don't know if that has been done before. You are one of the best teams on tour so good luck for next year.

"Sascha [Zverev] definitely played much better than he did in the group stage. He deserved to win, he's still quite young but he's had an amazing career so far and I wish him all the best for his future.

Novak Djokovic receives a warm applause from the crowd as he's presented with the runners-up trophy.
He will be bitterly disappointed not to win but what a year it's been for him. In his speech he congratulates Zverev and jokes that the German player better than he did in the group match.

I am watching Zverev in admiration and enjoying his celebrations. There are a lot of tears and we are looking at someone who will dominate the sport at some point.
There are other young players but they are not as good as he is. This is a huge win.
He's invested in his future by bringing in Ivan Lendl and he will be a different player at Grand Slams next year.
