A flock of seagulls are circling the Melbourne Arena, squawking away before pitching up on one of the roof beams behind the baseline in an orderly line.

Even they want to watch another Murray entertainment masterclass.

Andy Murray thumps his hip - which you'd imagine won't make it feel any better - as his forehand goes awry.

Bautista Agut doesn't look happy, but he holds to love to keep his nose in front.

Mary D Connolly: Surely Andrew Garfield to play Andy Murray?

Jim Ranger: Andy Murray biopic- everyone loves Ewan McGregor but he’s too old. Richard Madden the obvious choice.

Richard Clarke: Surely it has to be Eddie Redmayne - he even looks like him:

Andrew Neill: Andy's going to have a bit of free time after all of this so i suggest he plays himself....

    Murray 4-6 4-6 7-6 (7-5) 3-3 Bautista Agut*

A couple of tired-looking forehands from Andy Murray sees him trail 0-30.

He gets on the board with a slapped winner and then his opponent gifts him a point as he misses a backhand.

Oh, and again! Those backhand slices aren't quite working for Roberto Bautista Agut, and Murray reels off four points in a row to hold.

    "Andy!"

    "Roberto!"

    "ANDYYYY!"

    "ROBERTOOOO!"

Two punters - presumably one Scottish and one Spanish - have a shout off in support of their heroes.

The umpire has to wade in, almost like a mic'd up bouncer, to restore calm over the AP system.

Jack: This is why Murray will go down a legend! Never giving up, playing through the pain! That set victory was almost like he won the whole tournament!! Cmon Andy, Britain and the tennis world is behind you!!!

Fi Cousins: Nothing but respect for @andy_murray the fact that he's making some of these shots whilst injured is incredible. A true champ.

A good, deep forehand from Andy Murray, putting some extra oomph into the shot, and he draws the error out of his opponent.

Murray races to 40-0 before Bautista Agut whips a backhand beyond him, and Murray gets the angle on a slice all wrong.

Oh. Ouch. Murray coughs up a double fault and we're at deuce.

However, Murray blazes a backhand into the net for 40-30, and then has a furious conversation with himself about why that was the wrong shot.

In answer to Amy's question about the Murray box, I'm sat not far behind and can report, after briefly losing their heads, calm has been restored.

Although Harriet Dart - the youngster who lost to Maria Sharapova earlier - has quickly scarpered. She can be forgiven.

She'll be ceasing up after being sat in these not-very-comfortable seats for two hours and 35 minutes...

These plastic seats are like the ones in your local bus station. Not healthy.

How Murray found the willpower to come back I will never know.

Somehow he found the adrenaline needed to get back into the match.
