This is a quite awesome start by Kvitova.
*Kvitova 2-0 Barty
Good serve from Barty but Kvitova returns it - and Barty's forehand drifts long!
The first break goes Kvitova's way.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
Drop shot from Kvitova... oh, and Barty's volley is just long.
Another chance to break for Kvitova.

I played Kvitova a few times. Her backhand is stronger than her forehand, which is obviously amazing too.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
And once again, it's the Ash Barty serve that gets her out of trouble.
She goes big, Kvitova having to stretch to get a return, and she eventually floats the ball long.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
Kvitova is nailing these backhands.
Another winner goes zipping past Barty on the baseline to hand her another break point.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
Stonking serve from Barty, sending Kvitova sprawling, and she saves break point.
Deuce.

Kvitova is playing lights-out tennis already - I'm beginning to worry for Australian tennis fans.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
Shot! Down the line goes Kvitova before she overworks a body serve for 30-30.
Hello. That's another cracker down the line from Kvitova, and she's got break point.

Kvitova seems to be seeing the ball so clearly at the moment - everything is coming out of the centre of the racquet.
Kvitova 1-0 Barty*
Big serving out wide from Petra Kvitova first up, but she's passed by Ashleigh Barty as she approaches the net for 30-15.
A long rally, and it's Barty who puts too much slice on a backhand, and Kvitova whacks a first serve down the T to hold.

If Kvitova is on, how does Barty stop her? Well, I think Barty has the game to do so because of the spin she puts on her slice etc. I think Barty will win because of the occasion.
*Kvitova v Barty
Here we go.
Petra Kvitova, yet to drop a set in this tournament, will serve first.
Kvitova v Barty
Ash Barty's coach, Craig Tyzzer, has returned to the players' box.
He's been absent for the last week or so after feeling under the weather - and he didn't want to pass any bugs on to Barty.

This match between Kvitova and Barty could be the World Championship for niceness. They are both tremendously nice people.
What a match it was, too...

Of course, we'll be seeing Serena Williams again on Wednesday, in her quarter-final against Karolina Pliskova.
Kvitova v Barty
Huge cheers for Ash Barty as she comes out on court.
Plenty of 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie' t-shirts on show.

Of the many pronunciations of Tsitsipas I’ve heard today, ‘Tippy-Tas’ is my favourite so far.
Kvitova v Barty
Petra Kvitova leads the head-to-head 3-0, with wins in two finals at Sydney and Birmingham.
Both of those finals have gone to three sets, however.
