Djokovic has had a mini war with the crowd all afternoon. A few silencing gestures and a "yeah, that's me" stance following that backhand winner at the end of the rally.

He didn't appreciate the roar of cheers when Bautista Agut took the second set.

Anukram Adhikary‏: I want Djokovic to win because I think whoever reaches the final from the Fedal clash will win it easily against Agut. Agut will have invested everything in this game if he wins here. Will be a case of last year’s Anderson reaching the finals I think.

The first is saved when Bautista Agut miscues a forehand, with the space in the open court glaring at him.

And Djokovic ends a 45-shot EPIC of a rally with a stunning backhand winner. WOW! Deuce.

The Serb still has work to do. Bautista Agut goes 30-15 up with a nice backhand slice. And he honks his own backhand wide.

    Two break points...

Not quite the Spanish fiesta I thought it might be on Henman Hill.

Although both Roberto Bautista Agut and Rafael Nadal are playing today, I can’t spot much red and yellow around.

Nor has a single ‘Vamos!’ been screamed.

Time and time again Novak's been able to do what's necessary, lift his game up and apply pressure.

Djokovic almost needs a character to hang on against, an opponent to motivate himself so he can raise his game.

But there's nothing to hang on to against Bautista Agut.

He's very quiet, a metronome at the opposite end of the court.

Novak has been in this position so many times before that you figure he's going to weather it. He's going to hang tough and take his chances.

But his next return is into the cords and Djokovic holds with an ace down the T.

Uday Singh Rana: This rivalry isn't just poetry in motion, its the greatest epic ever written. Today the world stops for the 40th time as these two have a go at each other.

Can Bautista Agut keep this level up? Will he realise the magnitude of this occasion for him and will it get to him? So far for the last set and a half it's inspired him.

Bautsita Agut gobbles up a poor volley from Djokovic and hits a forehand winner. Djoko hangs his head and mutters something in what I can only assume is Serbian.

He recovers to hit an overhead but the Spaniard brings up 40-30...

Andrew Neill: I'm hoping for a 5 set thriller with Bautista-Agut sneaking the 5th set 13-12 and an epic, 78-76 tie break. This is in no way influenced by the fact that i don't want Fedal to start till i get home after work...
