This is quite a tussle. Evans is playing a good match, the power of Struff is clear to see and hear.

This is quite a tussle. Evans is playing a good match, the power of Struff is clear to see and hear.
Evans 6-6 (6-5) Struff
Better from the Brit as his second serve is too hot for Struff.
A great serve from the Brit with his second serve sees the German only find the net with his return.
Evans 6-6 (4-5) Struff
Evans could have just stayed in that rally but looked for a winner down the line - that tactic did not work. The German has some daylight.
But Struff then goes wide with a forehand.
Parity.
Evans 6-6 (3-4) Struff
Great work from Struff who breaks the Evans serve with a forehand that lands in the corner.
Evans needs to hold this one?
He doesn't as Struff passes him - sublime from the German.
Evans 6-6 (3-2) Struff
Mini-break back as Struff goes long with a slap-bass forehand.
Evans then punches a stunning forehand winner - I think he was in the air at the time!!
Evans 6-6 (1-2) Struff
The world number 42 scampers back to try to retrieve a Struff return but it goes long anyway.
1-1.
1-2 - mini-break for the German as his overhead is too good.
Evans 6-6 Struff
1-0 Struff.
Evans with two serves now.
Evans 6-6 Struff
The Brit holds as Struff goes for glory on his backhand but finds the netting.
Tie-break.
*Evans 5-6 Struff
Ace. But it's being challenged.
Challenge lost.
*Evans 5-6 Struff
The Brit is being stretched like Mr Fantastic, but he delivers a volleyed winner.
Struff then fires a return into the net,
Evans lets out a huge roar - he really needed that.
30s each.

Well, then. Suddenly it is the Germans who are uber happy as the British are overcome with angst.
*Evans 5-6 Struff
Struff charges to the net and smacks down a backhand winner.
0-15.
0-30 with another winner at the net.
Evans is being pummelled on the ropes.
*Evans 5-6 Struff
Evans is forced back and cannot return on his backhand side.
The Brit from going to serve for the set now has to try to take the set to a tie-break.
Evans 5-5 Struff*
Struff produces a second-serve ace. Wowsers!
15-0.
30-0.
Ace.
40-0.
Evans 5-5 Struff*
Struff breaks back as Evans slaps a forehand into the net.
Very gutsy from the 29-year-old.
*Evans 5-4 Struff
The first saved as Struff goes long with a snatchy forehand, rushing into the net.
*Evans 5-4 Struff
Struff mudder!
It's 0-40.

Struff plays his best points of the match with a great firm angled volley at the net - Evans hit his shot with some ferocity.
0-15.
0-30.
Yikes!!

Evans is jumping out of his skin. What a game that was! He has really capitalised on some very good play. He has been sharp. He is full of energy, no moping about after those two losses, he's just bouncing around.

"Let's goooooooooo!" screams Dan Evans as he bends over double in celebration.
More Union Jacks per person here than a Royal shindig at the Palace. They're wafting rather regally as every Brit in the place leaps north out of their seat.
