    Former world number one Andy Murray faces a tough opening match against Greek third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in New York.

    The 34-year-old, who reached the third round of Wimbledon in July, is ranked 114th in the world and showed encouraging signs in the warm-up events in Cincinnati and Winston-Salem - despite going out in the second round at both.

    Murray beat France's Richard Gasquet before defeat by Poland's world number 13 Hubert Hurkacz in the Cincinnati Masters, and overcame qualifier Noah Rubin at the Winston-Salem Open before losing to American Frances Tiafoe.

    Konta, 30, was due to face France's Kristina Mladenovic at about 22:00 BST and the reason for her late withdrawal is unclear.
