    Goffin 7-6 (7-3) 5-7 5-7 6-4 7-5 Tiafoe

David Goffin v Frances Tiafoe was the longest match of Wimbledon 2022 so far...

The Belgian starts his on-court interview by apologising to the next players on court two for their wait.

    But who could that be?

  3. Paul holdspublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    *Norrie 6-4 7-5 3-2 Paul

Norrie has a chance at 30-15 on Paul's serve but the American won't let his chance at a Wimbledon quarter-final go that easily.

He pulls back to 30-30 then serves two belters in a row to get his hold.

  4. Norrie holdspublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 3-1 Paul*

Just as at the start of the second set, Cam Norrie is so keen to get going again that he doesn't wait for all the chit-chat on Court One to die down before he hits his first serve.

Shades of Kyrgios v Tsitsipas as Tommy Paul runs into one of Norrie's trademark belting forehands. Looks like no harm done, though.

An equally powerful serve, followed by a backhand long from Paul gives Norrie another hold.

  5. Salisbury and Ram advance into quarter-finalspublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Ram/Salisbury 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 Matos/Vega Hernandez

Britain's Joe Salisbury and American Rajeev Ram fought back from a set down to move into the quarter-finals of the men's doubles at Wimbledon.

Salisbury and Ram are the tournament's top seeds and are chasing their third Grand Slam title after wins at the 2020 Australian Open and US Open in 2021.

They beat the duo of Brazil's Rafael Matos and Spain's David Vega Hernandez 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 on court three.

Salisbury and Ram reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2021.

  6. Goffin beats Tiafoe in brutal matchpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Goffin 7-6 (7-3) 5-7 5-7 6-4 7-5 Tiafoe

After four hours and 36 minutes, David Goffin has booked his place in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

He beats Frances Tiafoe 7-6 (7-3) 5-7 5-7 6-4 7-5 in a titanic tussle on court two. What a match.

Goffin will play Cam Norrie in the last eight if the Brit continues as he is going at the moment.

  7. Game and second set Sinnerpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    *Sinner 6-1 6-4 0-1 Alcaraz

Fifth seed Carlos Alcaraz is in a whole heap of trouble against Jannik Sinner on Centre Court.

Alcaraz has just seen the second set slip away and then went 0-40 down on his serve in the first game of the third set. The Spanish teenager recovered to hold, but he is living very dangerously here.

    *Norrie 6-4 7-5 2-1 Paul

    There it is!

Tommy Paul hits the ball long. The American challenges but sits down for the change of ends anyway and Hawk Eye shows it was indeed eye.

Cam Norrie is two sets and a break up in his first ever Grand Slam fourth-round match. A quarter-final soon to come?

When you're up two sets to love up it gives you that feeling and the freedom to be so aggressive and look to dominate at every opportunity with that forehand.

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 1-1 Paul*

    Misses again!

Norrie's forehand goes way long and that's another break point gone.

This game has gone to so many deuces, he'd like to get something out of it.

  12. Break point Norriepublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 1-1 Paul*

Norrie pulls Paul back to deuce a couple of times and then sprints from one side of the court to the other to hit a superb forehand winner for another break point,

Nope. Norrie hits the ball out and that's break point saved by Paul.

  14. Break point Norriepublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 1-1 Paul*

Norrie has a chance at 30-0 up on Paul's serve.

He loses the first point and his shot on the second one lands right in the corner of the court, but Paul is there waiting and keeps his cool to bring up 30-30.

A lengthy rally follows and eventually Norrie goes for a passing shot which Paul can just about reach, but not return. Break point.

  15. Norrie holdspublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 1-1 Paul*

Paul slips coming into the net and it's no surprise that his backhand goes wide.

Norrie then sends a forehand long and a backhand into the net to go 15-30 down, but he slams the door shut on the next point with a feather-light drop-shot at the net.

A 119mph serve claims another, before a powerful forehand forces the error from Paul for a hold.

  16. Paul holdspublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    *Norrie 6-4 7-5 0-1 Paul

Paul looks casual as anything as he sends Norrie scampering after a backhand.

The 30th seed then ramps up the pace and power and eventually catches Norrie out as the Brit bats it into the net.

  17. Postpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 0-0 Paul*

Right. One hour 40 minutes played and Cam Norrie needs one more set to win this.

The victor will play the winner of David Goffin v Frances Tiafoe, which has been going on for well over four hours.

So if Norrie could wrap this up quickly it would give him a decent advantage in his quarter-final.

For now, Tommy Paul doesn't seem to keen on that idea as the American establishes a 40-15 lead on his serve.

Everything Cam Norrie does is laid-back. He simply calmly clenches his fist after moving within one set of his FIRST Grand Slam quarter-final.

Everyone else on Court One is more animated, including his nearest and dearest.

But that's the Norrie way: no drama, no fuss, just all about focuses on the job he has to do.
