    Norrie 6-4 7-5 6-4 Paul

Norrie will face David Goffin in the quarter-finals after the Belgian beat Frances Tiafoe in an epic four-and-a-half-hour five-setter earlier.

In contrast, Norrie wrapped up this match in straight sets and two hours and 21 minutes so that will help.

If the Briton reaches the semi-finals, he'll face top seed Novak Djokovic...

The noise inside Court One brings out the goosebumps.

Electric stuff throughout the game which eventually seals Norrie's place in the last eight.

A release of emotion from Norrie, too, as he roars 'Come on' when Paul goes wide.

Then he skips across the grass with a double fist-pump.

About as much emotion as we've ever seen from him on court.

    What a moment!

The last Brit standing was outstanding!

When you think about the traipsing around the world - he left his parents in New Zealand to come to the International Tennis Centre and he went to American university. All these sacrifices are for these moments.

    Murray/Williams 2-1 O'Mara/Barnett*

A love hold apiece for the partnerships on both sides of the net to kick us off in the mixed doubles.

O'Mara and Barnett pile the pressure on Venus Williams' serve, with Barnett earning them two break points early on with a powerful forehand.

Murray fends off the first at the net, before O'Mara loses him and Barnett the opportunity to break with a forehand planted out.

From there, Murray and Williams hold and we remain on serve in this opening set.

After shaking hands with Paul at the net, Norrie indulges in a slightly more energetic celebration in the middle of the court.

He then returns to his seat and grins to himself as his parents and partner celebrate in the stands.

    He's done it!

Tommy Paul hooks his forehand wide and Cam Norrie is through to the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

He lets out his biggest "Come on!" of the day, understandably, but then returns to his usual subdued fist pump.

    Ooft.

It's a big forehand miss from Norrie. He's allowed a touch of nerves though surely, serving for his first Grand Slam quarter-final.

    One match point left.

    No.

Paul bites back, coming forwards and giving Norrie a taste of his own medicine to bring up 15-15.

    Here we go then.

The volume ramps up on Court One as cam Norrie steps out to serve for the match.

He had never reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam before but the ninth seed looks fairly comfortable with the idea of reaching a quarter-final.

Will Norrie get this done a game early?

He gets to 15-15 on Paul's serve, would save him a job if he didn't have to serve this one out.

Norrie covers almost every inch of the court in an exciting point to try and make it 15-30 but Paul shuts him down with a cross-court backhand winner.

    Murray/Williams v O'Mara/Barnett

    Alan Jewell
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

The fans on court two have had a loooonnnng old wait for Jamie Murray and Venus Williams' mixed doubles match, following that epic between David Goffin and Frances Tiafoe.

They are right up for this. Some real hollering as the players emerge and calls of "Venus, I love you" and even a marriage proposal for her! The same man then shouts out to say: "I love you too, Jamie!"

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 5-3 Paul*

Norrie looks pumped but in a sort of calm way... He's fist-pumping when he wins points but at the same time looks quite casual about it.

Suppose his celebrations don't matter too much, though. He's held serve to 15 and is one game away from a Wimbledon quarter-final.

The crowd aren't calm at all. They're loving every point.

    Murray/Williams v O'Mara/Barnett

Doubles is a game of whispers, secret hand gestures, tracking down a suitable team-mate - and sometimes quite awkward break-ups.

But have you ever stopped to wonder exactly how such - often unlikely - doubles pairings come about?

For Jamie Murray, it was as simple as the coach of Venus Williams typing a few words.

"Venus' coach texted me asking me if I wanted to play," said the Briton, 36. "Last year she asked me, but I hurt my neck. I can't say no twice."

Venus responded: "I've been trying to play with him forever. He plays hard to get."

    *Norrie 6-4 7-5 4-3 Paul

Paul looks on track for a straightforward hold of himself, but stumbles on a double fault to bring up 40-30.

An ace down the middle finishes things off and Norrie remains two games away from victory.

  20. Another hold for Norriepublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 3 July 2022

    Norrie 6-4 7-5 4-2 Paul*

"Let's go Cam," come the words of encouragement from the crowd as Norrie powers towards another business-like hold.

Or maybe this one will be a bit more challenging... Paul comes out on top of a lengthy rally to bring up 30-30 but then loops a backhand long to give Norrie game point.

The Brit firmly quells any further challenge with a great serve out wide.
