    Rybakina v Halep

Elena Rybakina certainly has the weapons to put Simona Halep's streak under threat.

The Kazakh world number 23 has produced 122 winners and 44 aces in her five matches at SW19 so far.

Her impressive tally of 212 aces this season is a Tour-leading tally.

    *Ram/Salisbury 6-3 7-6 (7-1) 6-6 Ebden/Purcell

Oh no, Rajeev Ram slams a forehand long, golden chance to win the semi-final gone. The breaker is back level at 6-6.

Then drama as Ram and Salisbury think they have gone 7-6 up, only for the Aussies to challenge - and Hawk Eye shows the ball caught the line.

Point replayed - but the Australian pair is unable to return. 7-6 Ram/Salisbury. Third match point.

    Rybakina v Halep

Only Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur have recorded more main-draw WTA match wins than Simona Halep in 2022.

And only Beatriz Hasddad Maia (12) has won more matches on grass than the Romanian (11).

The 2019 Wimbledon champion has now won 21 consecutive sets - and 12 straight matches - at the All England Club.

Can she continue that streak today to set up a final meeting with Ons Jabeur?

A big return from Rajeev Ram helps he and Joe Salisbury recover that mini-break in the breaker.

A stunning drop volley from Salisbury edges the Brit and American 5-4 up from 3-1 down. Two points from the final.

Make that one point after Max Purcell's volley finds the net. 6-4.

  7. Halep has 'fire in her eyes'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

Rybakina v Halep (Second on Centre Court)

Halep still describes her victory over Serena Williams in the 2019 final as "the perfect match of my life" after she dismantled the seven-time champion in just 56 minutes.

With the tournament cancelled in 2020, Halep was unable to defend her title a year later after picking up a calf injury and has since said she considered retiring after losing her love for the game.

However, with a new coach in Patrick Mouratoglou, who worked with Williams for 10 years, the Romanian says she has rekindled her joy for tennis.

"He sent me somehow this confidence, and I started to believe in myself again that I have that chance to be a good player again," Halep said.

"He thinks that everything is possible. So this helps me to trust a lot in what I'm doing."

Former Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska said she had been impressed by Halep, adding: "You can see fire in her eye again. She really wants to do it again."

Rybakina v Halep (second on Centre Court)

Elena Rybakina is the first player representing Kazakhstan to reach the last four at Wimbledon.

Born in Russia, she has represented Kazakhstan since 2018, meaning she was able to compete at the All England Club this year despite the ban on players from Russia and Belarus.

The 17th seed called for peace in her news conference following her quarter-final victory over Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic.

"I just want the war to end as soon as possible and peace," she said.

"I was born in Russia, but of course I am representing Kazakhstan. It's already a long journey for me.

"I'm feeling just the support of the people and also bringing some results which are very good for the sport in Kazakhstan."

Salisbury and Ram saved four break points - and now they are one break of serve away from the Wimbledon men's doubles final.

Ons Jabeur speaking on Centre Court after her semi-final victory over Tatjana Maria:

"I don't know what to say. It's a dream come true from years of work and sacrifice. I'm happy that's paid off and I'll continue for one more match.

"It was more difficult running for her balls! She has to make me a barbecue now for all the running I did on the court! I wanted to share the moment with her at the end because she's such an inspiration for so many people including me, coming back after having two babies I can't believe how she did it.

"Physically Tatjana is a beast, she doesn't give up, I thought she would give up, her touch, her serve and everything on the court is impressive. I hope she's continues this way. Let's not play again I'm good for now!

"I'm a proud Tunisian woman standing here today - I know in Tunisia they are going crazy right now. I just try to inspire as much as I can - I want to see more Arab and African players on the tour, I love the game and I want to share the experience with them. I saw some juniors playing out there and I hope to see them out here on Centre Court one day."
