The crowd have found their voices again, welcoming another Dodin winner with cheers and chanting.
Feeling some momentum brewing, she comes out on top in an entertaining exchange and takes the game to bring us back level.

Jannik Sinner, the eighth seed, is sent packing. He had two match points of his own in the fourth set, then saved four of them in that final 12-minute game.
But Altmaier gets in done with an ace, right down the middle.
At five hours and 26 minutes that is the fifth longest match in the history of Roland Garros!

Dodin keeps herself in the game with a forehand winner before sticking in a rally long enough to see Jabeur drop a backhand into the net for break point.
Long! Jabeur lifts a forehand beyond the baseline and Dodin hits back in the second set.

The crowd sense something might be happening for Dodin at 0-30, but Jabeur moves quickly to extinguish that hope with back-to-back aces.
A double fault, however, brings Dodin to deuce.

American Frances Tiafoe is looking to wrap things up on Court Simonne Mathieu. He is serving for a place in round three against Russian Aslan Karatsev, after breaking the former Australian Open semi-finalist twice in this fourth set.
This is Karatsev's fifth match at this year's French Open after the world number 62 had to come through qualifying to make the main draw.

If you're beavering away on a piece in the media centre and take your eyes off the telly, you're soon aware when something dramatic is happening on the courts.
The clicking of laptops keys has suddenly stopped.
Eyes are fixed on Sinner scrapping for his life against Altmaier.
Incredulous gasps greeted that humdinger of a winner from Sinner which saved match point.
"Wow," was the instant reaction by many.

This match is getting away from Oceane Dodin very quickly now.
That's now six successive games for Ons Jabeur who, with Dodin stranded at the net, picks her spot with a forehand to take a 2-0 lead.

Daniel Altmaier brings up three match points in no time but after more than five and a quarter hours, it was never going to be that simple...

Altmaier regroups and brings up another match point with a fantastic drop shot... but Sinner saves that one, too. Brilliant defence before a sizzling cross-court winner.

Dodin lacks composure at the net and from 15-0 she finds herself facing two break points.

But this time Oceane Dodin goes for it - and she gets her reward!
The French player rushes forward to pop away a forehand as she looks to end this run of games against her.

Despite initially struggling with her first serve, Ons Jabeur handled the challenges of that first set well and Oceane Dodin faded following her break of serve.
It's a fast start to the second set by the seventh seed, holding to love to win a fourth game on the bounce on Philippe Chatrier.

Instead, he comes roaring back to bring up three break points. Jannik Sinner's forehand is long on the second of them.

Dodin drives a backhand out of reach for 15-15 but she continues to play catch up after a missed forehand.
Suddenly, Jabeur is two points from the set, but Dodin draws an error to stay in contention.

The Tunisian opened the door for her opponent with a wide forehand for 30-30, but drifts another delicious backhand over the net on her way to securing the hold.

With Daniel Altmaier serving for the match, Jannik Sinner brings up two break points.
They go begging thanks to some big serving from Altmaier but Sinner makes no mistake with the third.
They've been playing over five hours now and it is still impossible to know which way it is going to go.

Oceane Dodin will be kicking herself.
Having got the break back, she had 40-15 on her serve, but she tightens up and Ons Jabeur takes full advantage.
Jabeur win a fourth successive point to take charge again at 4-2.
