The Australian Open is the only Grand Slam event where Novak Djokovic has ever lost in the first round - and not since 2006.

There's a long way to go and a lot of hard work required by Dino Prizmic for the world number 178 to send Djokovic to an early exit here.

He must, you sense, begin by winning the second set. Djokovic sends a careless forehand long to bring the teenager to 40-30.

Dino Prizmic is playing with his upper left leg bandaged following that earlier medical timeout, but he has looked unaffected since that break after five games.

The teenager isn't allowed a point by Novak Djokovic as the top seed races to a love hold in the blink of an eye. But win this next game and he'll be one away from a first set on his Grand Slam debut.

Well Magda Linette returned to court after that medical timeout and managed three games but she lost them all to former world number one Caroline Wozniacki and has had to retire through injury.

She had heavy strapping on her left leg and was visibly struggling on Margaret Court Arena.

What a shame for the Polish 20th seed but Wozniacki advances to the second round where she will face Maria Timofeeva.

Since Novak Djokovic began working with Goran Ivanisevic, it feels like the serve has become a potent weapon.

I don't think Ivanisevic wants Djokovic to be faffing around in rallies he doesn't need to be part of because frankly, that's not exactly what Ivanisevic did in his career.
