    Mixed event

Now then, remember how earlier we told you that we didn't know who had made it through to the semi-finals of the mixed curling?

    Well...

China's 9-3 defeat of Norway means that those two teams have finished level and must play-off for the final spot at 11:05 GMT. Drama.

Canada, OAR and Switzerland are all safely through.

    Men's slopestyle

I've been asked if Red Gerard is the first Olympic gold medalist to be born in the 21st century. Good question. We'll get back to you.

He barely looks his 17 years as he steps on to the podium at the flower ceremony (they get the medals later).

It might be called a flower ceremony, but it looks like they have actually been awarded teddy bears....

    Men's slopestyle final

It wasn't to be for Mark McMorris, the Canadian who almost lost life when he crashed into a tree less than a year ago.

This was the run that earned him a bronze medal.

Alex Graham: What a contest! Red Gerard killed it in his final run! Those final runs demonstrated just how small the margins of error are on those big tricks.

Gerard, by the way, will also compete in the big air.

    Double gold on the cards?

Jamie W: Outstanding run from Red Gerard! Been rooting for this kid the last hour, he has to work so hard to achieve top speed but what a run to snatch first.

According to the Washington Post, last week Gerard said that he "honestly done't know what the Olympics is".

    He does now.

One of seven children, the kid from Colorado who grew up with a rail park in his backyard is the Olympic champ.

The men's slopestyle gold medal will return to the USA, but this time it's Red Gerard - who will have been watching the last Olympics at home on TV aged 13.

What a win for snowboarding, that final lived up to all expectation.

Red Gerard blew everyone away, it will take a long, long time for this to sink in.

    How about that?

If you knew nothing about slopestyle before, I bet you're a fan now.

Gerard can't believe it. He's hugging everyone in sight.

It's a second consecutive slopestyle gold for the USA, following Sage Kotsenburg's victory four years ago.

Max Parrot takes silver for Canada, with Mark McMorris, the bionic man, having to settle for bronze.
