  1. Good conditions for Yarnold & Deas?published at 11:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

Back at the scene of GB’s first Olympic medal of these Games, but the temperature has dropped more than 10 degrees in the last few hours.

Cold means hard ice, which means fast ice and on a technical track these should be great conditions for GB duo Lizzy Yarnold and Laura Deas!

    Skeleton: Women's heats

The ice is so shiny under the lights, as Canada's Jane Channell come flying down.

It looks a bit untidy, feet dragging across the ice slightly, but she's forced her way into the lead with 52.45.

    Freestyle skiing: Women's Aerials

It might not have been the best jump technically but the degree of difficulty for defending champion Alla Tsuper's opening effort means the Belarus athlete is safely into the nine-woman Final 2 after a score of 90.82 in third place

Tsuper's team-mate Hanna Huskova who leads the standings with 94.15, followed by China's Xu Mengtao (91.00)

Final 2 starts shortly and the top six from that will contend for the medals in Final 3.

It is a very unusual track with a lot of uphill, so you need to take the speed from the push into the first few corners.

    Skeleton: Women's heats

Laura Deas will go 10th in this run, while Lizzy Yarnold is the 14th to go.

Ooh, there's a horrible screeching noise as Korea's Sophia Jeong comes skidding down the track - it's her helmet running along the side of the ice!

A little wonky on the way out but it's enough for her to clock 52.47 - a new track record.

Curling: GB 0-1 Sweden - Men's round robin

Sweden skip Niklas Edin, with his sculpted, pointy beard, looks like a hipster you'd spot in London's Dalston, Manchester's Northern Quarter or Glasgow's Finnieston. Those areas are still hip, aren't they?!

Edin ain't wandering around the vintage shops and slurping poke though. He's here on business.

He knocks out the British stone with a bread-and-butter final attempt to nick an early lead for the Swedes.

    Olympic bronze medalist skeleton racer

I think they have an equal chance. I don’t think Lizzy has got any better of a chance at the moment.

Hopefully they can boost each other and do well as a team. I would just tell them to do their best, not change anything, don’t panic about anything, ignore what is going on around them and concentrate on their start and their sled and then take it one run at a time.

    Curlers. Are you reeeeaaady?

    Curling fans. Are you reeeeeeaady?

    3-2-1... PEEEEP!

Sweden, the European champions no less, lob down the first stone to get this latest round-robin match under way in the Gangneung Curling Centre.

There's a bit of a duel (geddit, Gladiators fans?) going on in the first few exchanges, the house lying cold and empty before GB skip Kyle Smith plops one right in the centre....

Laura Deas is the top Brit in the world rankings when it comes to skeleton.

Originally starting out in equestrian, Deas switched sports in 2008, and took the sport like a polar bear to ice.

She finished seventh in the World Cup standings this season, and missed out on bronze in the European Championships by 0.01 seconds.
