Three wins for GB would definitely put them in the top four. Two wins may well be good enough.

It's very early stages in this match so far.

GB have played better in the two ends when Denmark have had the hammer.

Space in the house. Like a mansion with only a lonely millionaire to rattle around in the billiard room, gym, and walk-in wardrobe. GB have the hammer. There are three Danish stone at opposite points on the compass. Space for GB to play with...

We were complaining about the cold a week ago. Not any more.

It's got up to six degrees in Gangneung, home of the arena sports. Even the ice sculptures are melting. This polar bear's been shrinking by the hour.

Unless it's meant to be doing that as some sort of depiction of global warming? Either way it's sad.

Thomas Muirhead has started very well this morning. A good end from Great Britain.

They put a lot of pressure on Denmark and played some nice shots.

    We're after some simple twos.

Tight one this. Punches of the air from Denmark as GB are denied a big haul. One to the Danes, hammer changes hands. Whoever gets a big return of the investment of the final stone will take charge.

Lots of Danish deliberation here. Lots of red, only one yellow. The house looks like a scrappy frame in the World Snooker Championship. When in doubt, go for the cannon ball. Granite scattered like a blast at a quarry.

Overall, I've been quite impressed by GB men's performance level this week.

They've had a couple of good results and even against Sweden when they lost, they still played very well.

What I like about Kyle Smith's skipping is that he gives his players options.

Great Britain's pair of brothers, third Thomas and alternate Glen Muirhead (yep, Eve is their sister), are both farmers. Glen's farm has 700 breeding sheep and 400 ewe lambs. Thomas' farm has 150 pedigree ewes and 15 commercial cows.

The brothers say lambing season is similar to curling.

"Helping a lamb give birth is almost like the feeling when you make a great shot at the curling," says Glen.

Denmark have had two wins, they're not out of it just yet.

They haven't given up on qualification, they know they can still get back in it.

They still have to play Canada.

Ah, Kyle Smith looks disappointed and he probably should be. Not enough pudding on the final stone means the plant runs out of steam. Only one point for GB. All square, but it could have been better.

Final stone coming up. A chance for GB to take three?

Outstanding from GB skip Kyle Smith. A double plant pushes a red GB stone to the centre of the house and leaves Danish faces looking vexed.

Thomas Muirhead is really stepping up and looks like he is starting to enjoy himself.

He's pretty positive and looking confident so hopefully Kyle Smith will follow suit and we can get everybody making their shots and pushing for medals.

A different feel to this second end. Three yellow Danish stones are in the left of the house as we look from behind. I'm looking around the internet and getting quoted $30,000(US) for a set of curling stones that are used by the elite teams. Is that right? How much can I get a set of second-handers for?

Cammy Smith, the GB lead and brother of skip Kyle, needs some repairs on the handle of a stone before he sends it down the ice. Curling stones are mainly made of granite from the Scottish island of Ailsa Craig. A curling brush, I'm told, costs about £140.

It is a piece of shocking news. Curling is not a sport you associate with doping.

We believe he has gone home. He won the bronze medal with his wife. It's a big shock to everyone here in curling.

People shouldn't assume curling isn't a physical sport, especially mixed curling. They train hard in the gym just like every athlete, but it's also a sport of concentration.

It's a huge embarrassment for the IOC, given they let OAR compete.

Krushelnitsky named as Russian suspected of failed doping testpublished at 05:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

A Russian athlete suspected of failing a doping test at the 2018 Winter Olympics has been named as medal-winning curler Alexander Krushelnitsky.

The Reuters news agency confirmed the identity of the athlete with a Russian Olympic delegation spokesman.

Krushelnitsky, who won bronze with his wife in mixed doubles, is suspected of testing positive for meldonium.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has so far refused to confirm the name, sport or substance involved.

It's a good start from Great Britain, limiting the team with the hammer to just one shot from the first end.

They'll be hoping to follow that with two of their own in this end.
