  8. Cheshire “stoked” to reach halfpipe finalpublished at 03:02 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Nick Hope
    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

Rowan ‘grinning like a’ Cheshire cat as she skips into the mix-zone for her post event interviews after reaching the 12-strong women’s final.

At Sochi 2014 she wasn’t even allowed to compete after suffering a serious concussion in training on the course ahead of the event.

“There were a lot of emotions there today after what happened four years ago,” the skier tells me.

“I’m so stoked to get that run down today and make the final, it’s been such a journey and I’ve been injured for most of the last four years and to have my family here too is just a brilliant feeling.”

  19. Fuller “gutted” after failing to landpublished at 02:32 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Women’s big air qualification

    Anna Thompson
    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

British snowboarder Aimee Fuller was understandly annoyed and upset she wasn’t able to land any of her two runs.

She told me: “I’m gutted not to land either run as I was doing it in practice but I guess big event nerves got the better of me.

“But I’m really pleased that after the slopestyle all the women have been able to show just how progressive the sport is.

“This is the ultimate showcase of our sport and we’re having to land our biggest and best tricks just to make the final.”

She also praised the crowd, which included her cousin Matt.

“It’s absolutely insane to see so many watching and supporting. It’s the biggest I’ve ever seen for a qualification event.”

    Women's big air qualification

If you didn't see it, and you can bring yourself to watch it, here's Aimee Fuller's crash in the second run of the big air competition. Face first into the snow from a big height. Not fun.
