We have a new leader in the speed skating as Jutta Leerdam puts herself top of the standings.

It's actually currently a Dutch one-two-three at the moment with speed skating royalty Ireen Wust in bronze.

Wust is retiring after these Games after a stellar career which has seen her pick up 13 Olympic medals, including the gold in these Games in the 1,500m.

    A proper speed skating legend.

We told you earlier about the controversial women's ski cross final.

Sweden's Sandra Naeslund won gold. That was in little doubt.

There was drama behind her, however. Switzerland's Fanny Smith was in third but ended up being controversially relegated by the judges for some foul play.

That promoted German Daniela Maier into bronze but she could be seen visibly disagreeing with the decision when it was confirmed.

Attention turns to the speed skating now.

We're getting into the business end of the competition with six pairs to go. The medals will probably come from one of these remaining skaters.

Netherlands Antoinette de Jong leads the way currently, however, with a speedy one minute 14.92 seconds.

More from Eve Muirhead: "I was in this position in 2018 as well in the semi-final and I do want to do one better.

"I'm very proud of this time and as a team we've played very well all week. As much as we've lost a few games all of us know those losses have not been through a lot of bad play, it's been inches here and there - but that's curling.

"I can't wait to get out here tomorrow night and of course supporting the boys tonight in the semi-final and let's hope we can all do Great Britain proud."

Great Britain's Eve Muirhead after securing a place in the semi-finals: "We had to win that game today and that's what we went out there to do. We fought out hearts out, nothing was in our control apart from our own game and that's what we did.

"Of course we may have had one eye on the other games but to see we've managed to get a qualification spot by a centimetre in the draw shot, it shows all our great practice over the months, because it's drilled into us how important that draw shot is and it's just proven to us here that it really is."
